Hey ladies just wanted to drop in and give you all an update. For the first time ever I have had not 1 but 2 cycles on my own. The first cycle I was taking 2000mg of met and the femaprin. That cycle lasted for 46 days. On 6/18 Af came again and I'm currently on cd 8. Still taking 2000mg of met and the femaprin. My first cycle with femaprin Af was a little harsh but I think it might have been since I hadn't had her since Nov 08. This second cycle was basically a breeze. Only a couple of times were my cramps intense the rest were very mild, and the flow was not very heavy at all. I don't know if I O'd or not last cycle. I did do OPK but they lied to me and told me I O'd twice when I'm pretty sure I didn't. So not knowing if I O'd or not last cycle Dh and I will BD every other day this cycle until a BFP or Af comes.

I have gotten a huge breakout of acne on my chin. Ugh!! I haven't had this type of acne since i was in high school.

The other day, i had a heavy period hit me for a couple hours, clots and all. (sorry if tmi) But since then, it's been really light, if not spotting. I haven't had a heavy period since last year. I hope something is going on down there!!

Default Femaprin

hello everyone!
i am new to this site, although i have been reading it off and on for years. i have a mild case of PCOS and also a thin cyster however i have irregular periods. the longest i have ever gone without a period is 3 months. i started taking femaprin on june 30th 2009, which is almost 1 month. i have noticed tingling sensations in my stomach off and on and i'm pretty sure i ovulated. i am currently on CD49 and i'm hoping AF will arrive soon. i am married and i have been BD'ing, however, i'm just too afraid to see yet another negative pregnancy test, so for now, i will assume that i am not pregnant.

along with femaprin, i take a female hormonal tablet as well which is also all natural and includes: dong quai root, a dose of vitex, chasteberry and black cohosh...i take those 2x per day.

i will definitely keep you posted as to when and if my AF arrives...

Sorry for not responding but we just got back from vacation. I STILL have AF and it is STILL very heavy. (Sorry for tmi) While on vacation, I had to stop for the bathroom every little bit and when I would stand up, I didn't think I would make it to the bathroom....it is that bad. I have had no cramping just HUGE clots, the ones that almost take your breath away when you feel them coming out. That was everytime I would walk, not just when going from sitting to standing. I called the dr. today because it's still so bad, and the earliest they can get me in is Aug. 10th....my aunt works at the hospital in L&D and she is going to talk to the dr and see if he can see me sooner. I'll keep you all posted.

Seriously, this is the same thing that happened to me when the docs put me on ortho tri cyclen ten years ago. I bled so heavy for two weeks that i couldn't hardly walk and i couldn't go into work. I had to go off bcp for good. I really hope that you can get in sooner to see your dr.

Question Potential hormone allergy

Hi everyone--

Hope you're well.

I tried Vitex for several months as well as natural progesterone cream. Apparently, I've been told that I have a hormone allergy to progesterone. Dr. Roby is a well-known allergist in Texas that "discovered" this. But anyways, this may be why Vitex and progesterone make me feel awful and do not induce AF. I am hoping to work with my naturopath for another approach. My testosterone levels are through the roof as well as my hair growth, acne, and terrible mood swings.

I am so frustrated, I feel like I am going through puberty all over again. I am temporarily back on the pill but do not want to stay on as I feel awful on them. Fingers crossed I can figure this out. I have been feeling so awful and just want someone else's body sometimes.

Has anyway used saw palmetto at a higher does than the recommended 320 mg for hirsutism and elevated testosterone?

Thanks.

If Vitex didnt work for you check out the DCI thread, it lowers testosterone alot in the studies and imporves PCOS overall in general.

Thumbs up Femaprin seems to be working for me

AF was missing in action since Nov.'08 when I decided to start taking Nature's Way Vitex in Febuary '09. After 4 months on Nature's Way Vitex and nothing (no AF) but increased acne, increased facial hair and frustration over why this wasn't working for me and seemingly making things worse, I heard about Femaprin on message boards and decided to switch over to Femaprin.

I started taking Femaprin on May 16, 2009 and approximately 4 days later on May 20, 2009 I began to spot. This was amazing because at this time nothing had come out of me (blood or tissue) since November '08 and just 4 days after taking Femaprin there I was spotting. That lasted for just one day, but 48 days later on July 6, 2009 I began spotting again and this time it lead to an actual AF which lasted for 8 days (spotting and flowing on and off). Lo and behold just 25 days later after that on July 29, 2009 I began spotting again, which lead to another AF lasting this time just 5 days.

Never in my life have I had two AF in a row, on my own I might just have two or three AF in a year and they are spaced out, never back to back, but since using the Femaprin over the last 3 months my body has been having a pattern of spotting and AF, which seems to be getting better and more regular as each month passes. At this point I'm not sure if the Femaprin is making me ovulate, because currently I am not actively ttc and have not been taking temps or charting, but I have never been pregnant and it would be nice to know that when the time is right I'll be able to get pregnant naturally.

Although I'm not ttc, I'm not preventing it either and so far it has not happened so I'm extremely concerned that with having pcos my body won't cooperate and it won't happen for me when I'm ready. With Femaprin I'm much more hopeful now that I will be able to get pregnant because it seems to be doing its job, which is regulating the hormones that cause AF and those same hormones that will allow for ovulation and pregnancy.

Just a little side note, I'm not exactly sure what junk yard alley my Gyno got her medical degree from because she giggled at me when I told her my concerns about being infertile and possibly having PCOS. She told me I was not overweight or obese and she couldn't see any hair on my face so therefore I didn't have PCOS. She wouldn't even check my hormone levels until I really pressed her and comes to find out I have high levels of testosterone 83 NG/DL. And I do have hair, she just couldn't see it because I pluck and shave. Anyway her solution was to put me on BCP and when that nearly killed me (bloodclots, had to be rushed to the E.R.) She put me on another synthetic hormone, Provera, which caused me to get really sick and have heavy, heavy, painful bleeding. I was beyond frustrated and decided to ditch my gyno and go the natural route, which lead me to vitex and eventually Femaprin. I know other women have had side effects from femaprin such as depression, but for me its probably been the opposite. I'm flying high and nothing seems to bother me anymore. My mood has been elevated since taking Femaprin, I'm just so excited to get my next period which I know will be happening on schedule this time just like the last two. Please don't give up on Femaprin, it seems to be working for me so I know that it can work for others. This is truly a miracle herb

Smile Yeah Femaprin

thanx for the support. I have been visiting SoulCysters for a very long time now reading the threads with other peoples stories and I finally decided to post my own, since it so far is a success for me. Just as other womens stories have inspired me to go the natural route I decided to post my own to inspire someone else who may be thinking of going natural to regulate their hormones. Natural is always better.

So far Femaprin is working fine for regulating my menstrual cycle, but there are other symptoms of PCOS that I'm looking into treating naturally as well, such as hirutism. I was reading that D-Chiro Inositol works to decrease androgen levels so I was wondering if Femaprin and DCI could be taken together. I wrote the ChiroBalance people and they said it was fine, but like I said, Femaprin is working good in my body so I wouldn't want to add anything to the mix that might counteract its affects. Just wanting to know if any of you have any personal experiences with taking both together.

I'm glad you asked that question. I've been wondering the same thing. Maybe someone can give us some insight.

Hi Ladies,
I'm new to these boards, and after reading all the good things about Femaprin I decided to give it a try.
I've been taking it since 07/15 and yesterday I started spotting like others have experienced. (no cramps but I did notice EWCM on the 07/19)

I was wondering, for those of you who experienced the spotting, how long did it last, did it turn out to be AF? I'm a little worried about some of the stories, especially the never-ending period one.
