Not to be a downer Herbsgirl but do you typically take progesterone? It causes enough of a rise in my temp for FF to give me false crosshairs. Hope you are really going to O though.

I know Progesterone can cause temp to rise, but I am hoping the Femaprin is doing something in the meantime! I just need to end this cycle and have my period because I havent had one in a while.

I have been taking Femaprin for only 3 days now, and I noticed some spotting today. Could be coincidence, but I'm on CD 60 so I'm pretty sure its the Femaprin helping.

I also started taking a bunch of supplements about 2 weeks ago: D-3, Inositol, Saw Palmetto, Red Raspberry Leaf, Fish Oil, Cinnamon.

Also, I got approved for health insurance, effective October 1, and already made an appointment with an OB/GYN for October 2. Not sure if she can even give me anything better than what I'm trying now, but we'll see what she says.

Do you think its a bad thing that I'm taking all this stuff, and seemingly getting my system somewhat back in order, BEFORE seeing a doc? Should I stop taking it til after I talk with her?? Specifically, the Saw Palmetto, which should be lowering my androgen level. What if she needs to do tests and the results are affected by it?
What do you ladies think?

Random question, do you take your femaprin on an empty stomach or with meals?

It is recomended to take Femaprin on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. It does make me nausated sometimes. But I had read in my research that Vitex works best in the morning because somehow that is when your hormones are highest, and it works with them.!! Also I read that an empty stomach is another good way to do it. I usually try to do take it 45 min- 1 hour before breakfast.

Thanks herbsgirl, I guess I will take it with my DCI then because I take that 45-1hr before eating breakfast everyday.

Lately I feel like a crazy pill popper popping a couple of pills upon waking, with lunch, before sleeping hahaha.. ah well, let's hope this stuff works

I had been taking the Femaprin for almost 4 months and ever since I stopped taking it, I haven't spotted any more.

I am a pill popper too! I took 13 capsules/pills today not counting magnesium, Myo-I and DCI powder(s) and the Femaprin that I dump the powder in my mouth, then swallow water. But when I stop some things, I realize I cant get along without them!

It is alot but as long as they improve our health, it's so worth it

Now I feel like I've gotten into the routine of things, so it's not too much effort, but having started only a few weeks ago.. it was strange at first to be taking so many things!

I have to be honest with you all on here. I was a big believer in herbs and natural healing for PCOS, but now I'm not so sure and am thinking about going the medical route to treat my PCOS. I have been faithfully taking vitex for 7 months, and switched over to Femaprin for the last 4 months, cinnamon+chromium for IR for the last 5 months, and a good grade multivitamin for the last 9 months. I've also been low carbing for the last 4-5 months (with a few slip ups here and there, i love ice-cream). I had a semi-period/spotting in May, a full flow period in July, and a full flow period in August, then all of a sudden nothing. I'm currently on CD 64 and very discouraged. NO I AM NOT PREGNANT!!! so what is going on? I feel like breaking into tears, this is so discouraging. Life is so ironic, since starting all of these changes I swear the facial and body hair has gotten worst. Worse of all I'm afraid I'll never be able to bear children. Why can't I just be a normal menstruating woman? Today is a bad day

sjlorraine : im so sorry your feeling so low . have you tried taking the tiniture aswell as femaprin ? ive been taking femaprin for 6 months now .
for the past 2 weeks i have been having severe ovary pain and on sunday i bleed for the very 1st time without using BCP . it stopped after 30 mins , but my period came back on wednesday (still have it) . i havent had an AF for 3 yrs without any help of BCP or having a d&c last yr .

i have been taking femaprin and for the last 9 days been taking vitex tiniture aswell . i take the femaprin before breakfast , and take the tiniture an hour before dinner .

period pain is still as severe as ever , and i have been clotting quite alot and then it lightens for a lil while , then BAM clots again . but im so stoked i finally have my AF . typical i went to see my doctor the day before i got my af lol . she wants me to get some blood work done to see if im ovulating .

Has anyone had a similar experience with Femaprin? I'm puzzled as to why Femaprin brought my absent periods back for three months straight and then all of a sudden they are absent again. I've never tried the tincture and at this point I am pretty much done with Vitex/Femaprin, it just doesn't seem to work for me, understandably it doesn't work for everyone. When I get in a better financial situation I will try DCI. I guess I will keep trying different supplements/minerals until I find something that works with my body. A year from now if my natural supplement program doesn't work I will pay a visit to the doctor for some meds.

Default perhaps Femaprin success

I am not sure that I can entirely attribute my AF to Femaprin or that it is a real AF including ovulation but I figured I should share my story in case Femaprin really did in fact do the trick. Since my first menstruation I have been irregular however doctors always attributed it to my age and the fact that I was an athelete. Once in college I slowed down on sports and was diagnosed with PCOS. Consequently, I was put on BCPs and remained on them for over 5 years. Last year around this time of year I decided that I no longer wanted to take them as I was moving abroad and knew it was a good opportunity to turn a new leaf. I waited for months and nothing happened. In January I started acupuncture and some herbal medicine but had to stop taking the medicine as it was too costly. I remained doing acupuncture until August. Unfortunately, no AF ever came.

I had been doing my own research for a while and decided to try Femaprin in early August because of this thread. Meanwhile my Oriental Medicine doctor was concerned and sent me to a 'western' doctor who said he just wanted me to try BCPs for one month to make sure my system would respond and then we would run some other tests (i had done all sorts of blood work months earlier) to try to determine the cause of my PCOS. I relunctantly agreed. However, miraculously, before I started to take them I started to experience pms symptoms. I waited patiently and about a week later I got my first natural AF in years! Now this was approximately one month after starting Femaprin. I went back to the doctor to share the news and he said to wait another month and to keep taking the Femapin..mind you this is a 'western' doctor. Well, I did for the month of September and today my AF came for the second month in a row (about 32 days later) ! To be perfectly honest, I am not sure that this has ever happened. I should mention that nothing else has really changed in my life. I am a 'thin cyster' who is fit and eats healthiy. I didn't take any other supplments either.

At the end of the day, I figured I should share this story as this thread has really supplied me with so much useful information. I hope my monthly cycle continues and I hope others find help in Femaprin.

sagwa- Thanks for sharing, your sucess with Femaprin sounds good. I was able to bring on a pretty good period with Femaprin and Progesterone tablets. I am stillt taking Femaprin.

question I have been taking vitex 300 mgs a day for right at 2 months now and I have been reading about the Nature’s Way Femaprin and wanted to find out if I should switch to taking that instead of the regular vitex and should I have stronger dosages and I am planning on trying soy isoflavones on the next cycle and doing the cd 5-9 at 120mgs...any suggestions would be great...thanks ladies....
