That is so awesome BABY DREAMS!!!! A painless period! WOW! I also noticed less pain when I used it, and did not use pain meds. I am not TTC right now, but I just want regular periods.
Keep us updated!

I had made another thread w/ my question but i thought i would ask on here as well. I have only been on it 2 days and i swear i am retaining water more than usual. But i did have a bunch of pickles yesterday which has alot of salt. i hope this works!! i'm a wishin and a hopin' !! let me know your thoughts if you experienced anything like this. (and ofcourse i know you retain water before AF... but i know it can't be happening this soon!)
sb0681- It could very well be working. It could take up to 3 months but, it could also take less time. It all depends on how your body reacts to the herb. Good luck and keep us posted.

I just started about 1 week ago taking Chaste Tree berries (Vitex) and have noticed more mucus production "down there." I have also noticed occassionally having mild cramping where my ovaries are. As I was supposed to O last week, I'm not sure its related. I'm hoping this will help as we are on a break since I am on partial unemployment.

Yep, it could be working! I started noticing effects from the Femaprin almost immedietly, but it took weeks to make me Ovulate, and takes months for some women. Even though 3 months is the time to give Femaprin to work, really it takes 6 months to see the full effects of it. So even if you see some results, it still takes time to even all the hormones out completley.
I always feel bloated right before AF shows

I just discovered this thread. I am taking Femaprin. I was taking a different vitex for six months and had two periods in that time. I started Femaprin 32 days ago and had a very light period in the first week. Anyway I am going to stick with the Femaprin as I am trying to have another child. I have never had a regular cycle except on the pill which I stopped taking when I was 25. I was pregnant first at 28 (unfortunately my little one was stillborn at 7 months) and then had my daughter when I was 31. So really this is my last go at trying. I am optimistic with vitex because it is the first time I am having periods in any regular way. Fingers crossed, I will let you know how it is going.
I am wondering if I should switch to Femaprin?
I have been on the Nature's way vitex for almost 2 months now and still haven't ovulated. I thought for sure I would be ovulating because the way I got pregnant with dd is I took vitex for only a week and a half, ovulated, and got pregnant!
But it's not working this time for some reason. I am hesitant to switch to something else since the nature's way vitex worked last time. But if femaprin is supposed to be better....should I switch?

On a personal note, my onpinion is that there is no Vitex like Femaprin. Period. Did you read the first post in this thread? In it, I posted information on Why Femaprin is better than any other vitex product available. Here it is......
Why is Femaprin Vitex superiour to any other Vitex product available?
I believe it is better than other vitex products because it has 31 clinical studies backing it up, ect. (see quotes below) The once daily dose is also incredibly easy.
“MR. BLUMENTHAL: Anyway, Chase Tree or Vitex agnus-castus used for PMS type complaints since Greco-Roman times. All of the research done by Commission E to review the material, almost all of the 34 clinical studies, 31 of those studies were all based on one product called Agnolyt® imported by Nature's Way as Femaprin®. Presumably other types of vitex products would work and be useful. But this is the one that is confirmed and documented in their clinical literature. “
This is a quote from the same paragraph in the previous question “ The secret of this preparation's success appears to be that it makes a tincture from the fruit of A. castus rather than from other parts of the plant, as most formulations do. “
Quote...."Vitex is also called chaste tree in English because it was once believed that it would suppress a woman’s libido and thus keep her “chaste.” Some women do see a slight decrease in their sex drive when they start taking vitex. This is because vitex helps lower abnormally high testosterone. This is a sign that it is working and not a cause for alarm. As your hormones return to normal you will begin to see the monthly ups and downs in sexual interest that are normal for a women"
Mainly because it has so many studies to back it up, and it is made from a special part of the vitex that is unique to the femaprin. Vitex works for most women, but sometimes you need to lower insulin resistence in addition to taking the vitex. I dont know what your personal situation is.
Hi ladies found this thread and thought I would join.
I just ordered Femaprin from vitacost.com after going through this thread. I am already taking Fertilaid but will be out in a few days and for economical reasons I decided to switch. It also seems to work better from what I have read so far.
I don't have a period unless I take prometrium which by the way hasn't worked for the past 2 months. But I just started taking it again after a long break so maybe thats why. I did get some brown stuff for about 4 days but nothing since then. I'm also on 2000mg of met and will be getting some more prenatals soon. I'm very excited to start Femaprin knowing it has helped alot of us cysters. I will keep you guys updated on the progress.
I have a question. I have been taking Femaprin for about 2 weeks and now I have a yeast infection. Do you think it could be because of the medication?? I have had a yeast infection in FOREVER.... so i'm a little worried. Let me know your thoughts... thanks!
sb0681- not quite sure. You may want to give it another month or so and see. Hopefull you dont get another one.
I have nothing new to report. I am due to start my period in 3 or 4 days. I have been feeling minor cramps and minor breast tenderness. Wish me luck ladies and send AF this way!

Is it true that vitex has to be taken the SAME time everyday? How critical is that?
And is it true it has to be taken BEFORE you eat? How critical is that? Because I haven't been taking my regular vitex before I eat. I've been taking it after. So now I've counteracted it and it's like I haven't even taken it??

Actually dont panic! Im sure that for 1. taking vitex with food is better than not taking it all, 2. Taking it in the morning is better because thats when hormones are higher. But I have a friend who is taking it at night, and also my sister takes it at night, so whenever it works best for you. 3. If you take it different times during the day, like I said, its better than not taking it. Im sure it works to a certain extent as long as you take it Everyday.
To tell you the truth, I had been taking mine on an empty stomach...but now I have been taking it with food sometimes too, and also at random times in the morning. (although it is almost always in the morning)
I just read on the internet about taking vitex in the morning, at the same time every day, I will do some more researching on those things and see what there is to them.
Thanks for posting and joining in!
