Just wanted to update you guys. I did receive mine in the mail on the 20th. I have been taking it ever since. For the past couple of days I have had some cramping but I don't think it would be working so fast. It could be some Met cramping for me they kinda feel the same. I did take Fertilaid for a month so Im kinda hoping that with some vitex already in my system that it wont take a full 3 to 6 months for me to see any changes. I will let you guys know if anything changes.
Just wanted to keep you guys updated the past few days I have had some cramping and today it has been pretty intense. When I wiped this morning the tp had a pink tint to it. I have also had some acne which is unusual for me and some mood swings. I think this is it. I think I may be getting AF but Im kinda in denial too because my body has cried wolf several times in the past.
Guess what ladies today I can officially say that it is CD2 for me!My flow increased yesterday evening and picked up speed over night. Finally! I really think alot of it if not all has to do with the vitex. I was taking fertiliaid for a month and then switched to Femaprin on the 20th of May. I just cant believe this made AF come and the prometrium couldn't. I wonder how much the met had to do with this too. I have been taking it for 3 months 2 months at 2000mg. I'm one step closer to getting a BFP this month than I have been in a long long time!
Hmmm, I thought about taking it before...but I was already on Natures Way Vitex....which I bought a bulk of...and decided to add B6, nothing happened, I think femeprin will be the next thing tried. I am on NPC right now.

Ok, it's just weird, for those of us who already use Natures Way Vitex, you'd think by adding the B6, it would have done the trick. Natures Way must have formulated it differently. It will be a little bit, but you ladies will see me back, when I finish this bottle.

I dont think that Nature's way Vitex is the same as the vitex in Femaprin.
The vitex contained in Femaprin is imported from Madaus of Germany. Madaus makes a vitex that is world famous, called Agnolyt. Agnolyt is the exact same vitex as Contained in Femaprin. I sent an email to Nature's Way to find out if they are the same vitex, I dont believe they are, but hopefully they will get back with me. I have called Nature's Way before about other products and they seem helpful.
IF you read the 1st post in this thread where I put lots of info and links on Femaprin, it tells more about it.

i have been taking femaprin now for a lil over 2 months , prior to that i was taking a diff brand for a lil over a month . havent had a period as yet , ive had ALOT of cramping and a little bit of mucus..but still nothing . i havent had a natural period since i was 15 , the last time i had bleeding was may last yr .
im getting really frustrated i have been taking my tablet an hour before lunch , but if it doesnt really matter if u take it close to eating , then im wondering if i should switch it to taking it 1st thing in the morning . i eat within 15 mins of getting up , and i dont want to wait an hour to eat my breakfast , im absolutley starving 1st thing in the morning.
herbsgirl - I bet your right, they must make femaprin with a differnent form of Vitex, then the Vitex they sale by itself. I read the ingredients Vitex has Vitex Agnus Castas fruit at 400mg, and Femaprin has Vitex Agnus Castas fruit extracted 225mg, and Vitex Agnus Castas fruit 100mg....so there must be a difference in the mix itself. Once I finish my bottle, I will be switching over to femaprin.... I quit all my herbs for a little bit, because they wasn't regulating me, but I am getting back on the TTC wagon, once I bring AF with NPC. But, I don't want to waste money, I want to finish my supply.... I will see you girls soon.

Skye- I wouldnt give up yet. If you have trouble getting your period anyway scince you was 15, I would give it more time. Vitex can take up to 18 months to correct Primary or secondary amenorrhea.
Secondary amenorrhea is the absence of menstrual cycles (i.e. menstrual cycles on your own, not induced cycles with natural progesterone or provera) for 12 months in a women who has irregular cycles. It means the absence of cycles for 6 months for a women who had regular cycles.
Quote "Twenty patients with secondary amenorrhea were admitted to a 6 month study using Vitex liquid extract at 40 drops daily..... [they ususally use liquid Angnolyt on these studies, which is the exact same thing as Femaprin.] At the end of the study, data was available on 15 patients. The onset of cycles with menstruation was observed with Vitex treatment in 10 out of the 15 patients."
Quote
"It is important to note that Vitex is not a fast-acting medication. In cases of anovulatory cycles and infertility, treatment duration may be as long as 5-7 months before conception occurs. For secondary amenorrhea of more than two years duration, Vitex should be administered for at least 1.5 years. In other conditions mentioned, however, first indications of efficacy with Vitex are usually seen within one or two cycles. Extensive or complete freedom of symptoms usually occurs after 4 to 6 months of treatment."
So it takes a while. I reallize there are a small percentage of women that femaprin may not work for, but secondary amenorrhea it even can take longer to straighten out your cycle. I encourage you to keep going.
For myself I am finding also, that Femaprin might work better if you take it with an insulin sensitizing product Natural or otherwise OR losing wieght or trying to lose, can help alot.If I am too heavy or eating too much, and not trying to lose, it can mess up my cycles even if I am on femaprin. But Femaprin definatly makes it easier to ovulate, at a heavier wieght. I am trying to lose now, and it is hard. Easier put on than taken off!

i dont need to lose weight im quiet small . i was taking dong quai with it for a lil while , but it was causing me a bit of grief , so i dont take that anymore . i do take regular iron though , because i have re-occuring anemia .
thank u so much for the information , i really appreciate it *big hugs*
just to update, I got af from my first bottle of femaprin! I had four pills left in the bottle and was very surprised! I totally believe femaprin is better that just vitex. Thanks for showing me all the research behind it.
