Ive been on clomid for 12 cycles and ovulated on them all,we well timed intercourse and never conceived. Im thinking of asking my docs if we can use fermara,do you think its a good idea,how long can you be on it for?? If anyone has any thoughts please let me know as i am seeing re this afternoon.

Just sharing what my doctor told me: that it is not good for you to be on clomid more than 6 cycles. It may be creating issues with your CM which is why you are O'ing but not conceiving. If I were you I would look into other options or get a second opinion. Best of luck to you!

I have also heard the same about Clomid. You are not supposed to take it more than 6 months in a row. Also, it can create issues with CM and make your lining too thin to support a pregnancy. My doctor, this morning, actually said that Femara will tend to produce a better quality follicle.

thankyou both for your help,do you think been on clomid for 12 months will have harmed my body or chance somewhat or ever achieving a pregnancy im so scared now i just did what they told me. Good to know femara is better at producing follicles

I did clomid for 4 cycles before getting pg. I was o'ing but not conceiving. So I added 81mg of chewable baby aspirin which is supposed to aid in making the uterus better for implanting and the first cycle, on the aspirin I got pg. I also used the ov watch for my pg cycle.

A friend on another board just told us yesterday that her doc will no longer prescribe femara because Novartis (the manufacturer) has alerted all docs to no longer use it for infertility because that is not what it is used for. So you may have trouble getting it now.

I truly don't think I would have done clomid for 12 cycles but if you do, you need the baby aspirin! Helps the uterine lining.
