Thanx again for all the well wishes. Hudsonrybicki - it clicks in every now and again, but I still suffer from some disbelief hehe.

Tummy - ljlarsen- My follies grew very late this cycle. I thought it was a bust, but I was wrong. It was cd 18 when my follie finally grew to 15mm. Could it be that it's just working late? I hope so! I wish you both the best!

Pookietooth - best of luck!! Hoping its your time!

Btrflybeetle - Hugs to you and DH. That's a lot to have on your plate. Thinking of you and DH.

Aleutianrunner - GL during your 2ww!

Soonermama - Glad your hsg went well for ya. Mine hurt a little as well, cramps after ect. Hope DH feels better soon.

tonia25 - I don't know to much about chemical pregnancies, so I don't have any advice about baby aspirin or anything sorry. But I wanted to wish you best of luck with your new cycle!

ttcsarah - ya never know, maybe this cycle of femara will work. I only ever got 1 follie as well, but it worked! I can understand being disapointed. Its to bad they didn't tell you sooner about the consult.

TTYL!

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been MIA this week.

Patrice- My heart was breaking reading your posts. I desperately wish there was something I could do or say that would heal your pain. I'm glad to hear that you are able to try the injectables afterall. Hopefully that will do the trick!

I had my SHG yesterday. OUCH is all I have to say about that. No obvious reasons for the gigantic clots, which my dr says means it's all my wacked out hormones. I usually see all the little follicle/cysts when they are measuring for a follie scan, but yesterday she just measured the ovaries themselves. I was amazed to see that "string of pearls" so clearly on the screen. I've never seen that before! Dh has the flu (or whatever nasty virus I had 2 weeks ago), so it's probably good that I'm no where close to o'ing (that's assuming I will even o this cycle).
Hey Sooner! You've done enough by reading my posts & not thinking I'm NUTS.
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Thanks for that. I love my dh very much and can't imagine the remainder of my life w/ out him but at the same time I can't imagine not ever having a little one of my own either. I want to continue to hope & pray for this miracle I honestly do--but it's hard sometimes. I mean each procedure HSG, SHG, hysteroscopy, etc..with each one of these I'm thinking this may be it...only to be let down again. Now my darn body has completely shut down & is not responding at all--except to Provera of course. So it's hard for me to be optimistic about March & trying injectibles--but of course a small part of me will be overfilled w/ hope by then.
Well I hope you're more successful after the SHG! All I've ever seen all my tiny little follicles too! Good Luck to you Sooner & thanks again.

Patrice

herstory - Congrats on your BFP!!! Maybe it will be contagious

btrflybeetle - Don't give up hope, yet!

I went in for my follie scan today and have one at 17mm and some other smaller ones. My lining was 6.5 which the doc says goes right along with the follie size. I have to go back tomorrow afternoon for another check.
My doc also told me to start taking baby aspirin.

My doc wants to talk to me about IVF. Every time I hear that it causes me to freak out!! I just don't know if I want to go through with that. I would have to drive to a town 3 hours away for the treatment. Plus, I have no idea how much it costs, but I have heard it can be as much as $20,000, is that true??

Chamber - The estimates for IVF are between $10,000 and $15,000. Where are you? There are some states and countries that mandate that it is covered by insurance and others that offer assistance in paying for it.

Question

my_herstory - Congrats!!! I truly wish you guys the best.

I've been doing a lot of beta number research online as my numbers seem so low. I'm kinda paranoid about not sticking. My first beta was 37.3 and the 2nd was 65. I'm going back Wed for a 3rd test so maybe it will jumpstart before then. Do any of you know what is normal - or abnormal?

becky-for DS, my beta at 12 dpo was 39.7. It more than doubled at 14dpo. You will find stories both ways. The important thing to remember is that it's the doubling time rather than the number itself.

hudsonrybicki - I am in Arkansas, so I doubt I am in one of the states that requires help in that procedure. IVF is so intense and there are no guarantees plus I have to have the procedures done in Little Rock which is a 3 hour trip. I am just so stressed out over it. I just don't know how far I am willing to go with all of this, but then I turn around and feel guilty that I am not doing everything I can to achieve this goal. I know I am just a ball of emotions right now!!!

congrats, myherstory! As for me, I got a BFN this morning. It was one of the early ones, too, so I'm sure it's probably right. My cycle has been all wonky anyway this month. Femara doesn't seem to work for me. On to injectibles, I guess.

Chamber -- you could probably have the monitoring for IVF closer to home, and just go to Little Rock for the egg retrieval and transfer. My clinic offers a program called "Shared Risk," where you basically pay for 2 cycles up front, and with that you get 3 IVF cycles plus 3 frozen embryo transfers, so theoretically up to 6 chances for the price of 2. And then if you don't take a baby home at the end of it all, you get up to 100% of your money back (most say around 70%). I'm looking into it for this summer if my injectable cycles don't work out. Also, my clinic is only like $8000 for IVF, but that doesn't include meds, which I've heard can be $4000 or more. My biggest fear is that I'll do it all and still not get a baby

Pookie -- so sorry about the BFN. Guess we'll both be heading to injects soon...

Pookie - Your temps are still way up there, I hope you get a surprise this cycle!

Chamber - You should not feel guilty about the TTC process at all!! IVF isn't right for everyone, and if you and DH don't want to do it, definately don't do it! Have you tried injectibles yet? I am curious as to why your RE would be talking about IVF without trying them first.

Whitney - I noticed from your chart that you are charting cervical position. How the heck do you tell the difference between open and closed? I keep looking for it, and I can't figure it out!!

I am doing pretty well. I got my 2nd positive OPK this morning. We BDed around 5 pm last night, so hopefully our timing works out well. If this cycle is anything like previous cycles, I probably O'd last night and this morning's rise in temps indicates that. I just hope tomorrows are high as well!

Has anyone heard about baby asprin helping with implantation?

kim

Kim -- I find it difficult to tell, too. I just know what open feels like, b/c I feel like I can almost stick my finger in. That's mid-cycle when it's really soft, and every other time I can't, so I just consider that open and the rest closed! I go much more by position and softness.

As for baby aspirin, I've heard it can help with the lining, and some people say it also helps with implantation, but one doctor I saw said it actually can inhibit implantation, so not to take it during the 2ww! So who knows... my sister was told to take it starting after AF leaves all the way through.

Kim-Not sure about aspirin and implantation, but my RE swears by a baby aspirin. They ask me every month if I'm still taking it. I figure that if they feel that strongly about it being a good thing, I should listen to them.

pookie-You never know though. If you implanted late, it may still be a day or so too early.

tummy-I knew this cycle was a bust by cervical opening this month. It sort of always feels a little open since I had DS but definitely there's a difference when it's really open. Just had to mention that cuz I use the same approach you do with the finger test.

eta: AF seems to finally be coming into town! Yay! Finally can move on to a new cycle!!
