I am looking for first hand experience with Femara... Could you tell me your dose, your side effects and if you were successful in ovulating (plus how many cycles of the med it took before you ovulated).

I start Femara 5mg sometime this month (still reeling over the fact that I have had NINE failed Clomid cycles - yet conceived on my 3rd Clomid cycle 4 years ago and had my DD).

I just want to know what to be prepared for, if there is anything I should/can do to alleviate any side effects.

Also - I take 1500mg of Metformin.

I too have a 3 year old DD, and am now TTC #2.

I conceived DD on first round of Metformin.

Dr tried Metformin again this time, and for 2 cycles, it did nothing.

Has now moved me to Letrozole, and it's been wonderful. I o'd on the first cycle right away.

The 2nd cycle was very long (60 days), but with blood work, it was confirmed that I did ovulate even though it was really late.

Dr now has me on a double dose from cycle day 3-5.

I don't know if I'll conceive this cycle, but the letrozole (for me) doesn't have any of the negative side effects that the Metformin had, and I have ovulated each time I took it.

I am on my 3rd round of Femara & shots & am doing trigger shot tomorrow. I ovulated both times. I got 1 egg the first time & 4 the 2nd time. Don't know why I didn't get pg. I have 3 that look good this time.

I never ovulated with clomid or with clomid & repronex. So I was so glad when the Doctor put me on Femara and I actually responded to it.

We have been trying for 4 years to get pg. It just gets so frustrating.
