Default Femcon Fe

I am on a 2 month TTC break. RE put me on BCP's, Femcon Fe, to bring down my testosterone level. Anyone else try this? I was a little freaked out when I picked it up from the pharmacy and it said 'chewable.' I was like EEEK!! I haven't chewed medicine since I was a kid. Then I learned you could just swallow it too!

mlbarry~ I'm glad I'm not the only one weirded out by the "chewable" thing, LOL! I am starting week 3 of a pack due to a cyst from clomid, but I have to say that I've had headaches and insomnia the entire time I've been on femcon. And I started spotting about day 12 and again today (day 15). Cyst is still there, so I'll probably have to do another BCP cycle and I may ask to switch to something else. I also just take it normally, no chewing, yuck. Hopefully you have a better experience.

I'm also on week 3 of Femcon. I was planning on starting my 2nd cycle and went to see my RE and he found a large cyst on my right ovary. I was soo bummed. As of now I haven't noticed and side effects from the Femcon and I love the fact that its chewable. It's like a little mint, i love it.

Oh gosh don't tell me insomnia!!! I just stopped taking a medicine that caused me not to be able to sleep for 2 months!! So far, that has not been an issue.

At least I am not the only one on it. I had never heard of it before now. So far my only real side effect is slight hot flashes...but it has also been REALLY hot where I am from (heat index of 115) so maybe those will get better when it is not melting temerature outside!

I'm starting my 5th month on Femcon, was put on it for lowering testosterone and was too slightly iffy about the chewable fact. The say it's for the convenient factor but you have to have a whole glass of water after you chew it to make sure nothing gets stuck in your teeth. Makes ya wonder why you don't just swallow it in the first place. Anyhow, sad to say I too had the insomnia with this pill. Seemed to be a few days before I went off it until a few days after I started it again. I have had issues sleeping though so might be the pill just irritated them a little for me. Other then that I haven't had any side effects from it. Hope the insomnia doesn't effect you though, I know it's such a pain not being able to sleep.

Oh geesh! I REALLY hope the insomnia thing doesn't hit again. So far, I have not had that as a s/e...and I have been on it for almost a week.
