Hi ladies...

Just wanted to know if you had an update on your use of SPI?? I'm taking it this cycle and would like any feedback you can give! I'm taking 80 mgs for 4-5 days! Thanks ladies!

Hi Carrie,
Sorry to butt in but I just wanted to say that I started 1500mg SPI yesturday CD 3. I usually ovulate around cd21 but last cycle I had a chemical pregnancy (m/c 19dpo) so I'm trying to get myself to ovulate earlier in case that was the problem.
This is my second month with SPI. Last time (the month before pg cycle) I took half the recommended dosage CD 5-9 and there was no change so I guess I didn't take enough.

So here's hoping that we can both get a result.

Hi Carrie,

I took it last cycle cd5-9 and I O:ed cd16. This mo I started on cd3 but took only till cd5. I stopped after reading and hearing too much negative things about it, even causing infertility. (I posted the "The truth about SPI" thread.) I also experienced really strong cramping on cd4-5 as well as headache, I did not find any other explanation apart from SPI. So I was put off. But I'm sure SPI definetely influences hormonally.

I think it was Patu who wrote, that those (cramps, headaches) are signs SPI is working and cleansing the body. Yet I do not know how SPI is cleaning and what is it cleaning way for... Patu can you tell us is you see this post?

I have not had O this mo...

Oh well. I'm such a cautious person. For the same reason I do not want to take clomid, yet. I keep that as my last choice .

The neuropath I was seying told me that SPI has a cleaning effect on the body. It helps to get the toxins out from the body. The toxins we get from food, air, water etc in our poluted, full of chemicals world. Because it makes the toxins leave your body, it is normal to have headaches, pipmles etc.

No O yet, and it's cd19. I've been using OPKs like crazy and nuthin'.

I was wondering if maybe the powder was more effective than the pills (I'm on the pills). Anyone find a difference?

Default A result from Soy !

Hi Carrie,

Just wanted to let you know that yesterday i definitely felt the effects of the SPI. Talk about my ovaries taking a stand and letting me know that they are there. Whew !! Some cramping, aching, etc. The same exact effects the clomid produced. It's amazing how it works.

God Bless with your future endeavors.

Ladies, ladies, ladies!!!!!

Thank you ALL for the replies (HI Sondra) Gosh, it seems some mixed replies...I worry too that it might be harmful, but, I REALLY do not know what it feels like to O, and the one time I took it, I had some major pain in my lower abdomen...I am willing to try it once more b/c I've heard it working in others!

Fifa: any O yet???

Meggie: First off, I'm so sorry about the miscarriage! You're a trooper Are you sure you took 1500 of SPI?? Look on the ingrediants and see if it is a smaller dose of the actual Soy Isoflavones...that seems like an aweful lot?! Let me know, b/c I'm worried about taking 80mgs?! lol

Squirrel: How is it all going? Still feeling those ovaries?

Shelley: cd11! Wow!!!! Early is better than never, right? Let us know if you caught the eggie!!!

Patu and Nylon: Thank you both for your advice/words of caution! I don't want you all to think I'm throwing my health to the wind, I take it seriously, I'm just willing to try anything natural that might help my body start working!

More updates?

Hi Carrie,

Just to confirm dosage .. 1500mg is correct. Each capsule is 750mg and it the bottle recommends 1 to 3 capsules a day. I'm taking 2. So I shouldn't be exceeding the dose.
One capsule daily had no affect last time I tried it. I'm on CD7 now. AF was one day longer than normal this time, I assume due to the m/c last cycle.

Keep ya posted!

Hi Nicola,

No problem. I got mine from holland & barratt.

This is a link to it on their website. (This link seems to have expired. If you search for product number 000005 you'll go straight to it)

Having read the info about it again. I see where the confusion has occurred. Its actually 750mg of soy extract.

This is from label:

Typical Isoflavone Content per 750 mg Soy Life capsule: Approximately: Daidzin & Daidzein 15 mg to 20 mg Genistin & Genistein 4 mg to 6 mg Glycitin & Glycitein 9 mg to 14 mg Soya Saponins 30 mg

Sorry about the confusion caused!
