Default to fight hairloss

Hey,
i am currently on the bcp and androcur, i will reduce my androcur dosage soon, and all my hormones are back to normal. I dont shed anymore.
Yet I`ve lost a few hair, and it bothers me even if shows only if you really know what hairloss is. Is there any way to grow back what i lost???
I read about saw palmeto but if my hormones are back to normal could it be still effective??
Ive herad someone say that once the follicle is dead you cannot rejuvenate it. If some of my hair stop growing like five or six years ago then there is no hope for them to come back?

I *think* that if your hormones are back to normal, then the hairloss should be normal hairloss. (i.e. what everybody loses.)

My hair also fell out something crazy last year, I'm also on androcur, today my hormones are 100% normal (after 6 years of see-saw). My gyn said today that my hairloss was most probably due to my hormones being out of wack, and as long as my hormones stay fine the hairloss will not reappear. However if my testosterone takes off again (due to my stopping my meds for example), then the test will slowely build up and the hairloss will most probably come back again.

Hope that makes sense!

People have reported regrowth. I don't know how common it is, but it seems that it is possible, at least to some extent.

HTH!

You can have normal levels of testosterone, but you may still be producing a lot of dehydrotestosterone, which causes hair to fall out.

Some people are prone to DHT, and others aren't.

If you are, I'd recommend DHT fighters like Saw Palmetto, Nettle, Pygeum, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Beta Sitosterol, and green tea.

Oh sorry ~ gotcha now!

My hair has been growing back since being on Androcur, it's not as thick as it was before but it's def there!!

So i'd say that YES you will be seeing regrowth!

Default regrowth..

Ive been doing some pretty heavy research on hair regrowth and just posted it under Phytoestrogen..check it out it may help you keep what you have. Ive also found in my search that when your test result come back normal that it might have been so at the time the test was taken but could go on tilt a month later down the road and the shedding returns. Perhaps a supplement of soy isoflavones will keep it adjusted to "normal" ...its worth looking into. One other gal posting here suggested something like this to you. Another has the very same ideas I have, that when the testosterone levels go down and estrogen goes up you shedding stops for the female body is doing as it was designed. But be careful many who went off that drug found shedding returned. May I suggest something that wont be of great concern to health and function your kidneys and liver by trying something natural and even though it may take 4-6 month before regrowth is seen its easier on your body over the long term..I wish you the best...

all my hormones are normal including the dehydrotestosterone. I dont think they changed since my last blood test, actually my skin feels so dry now i gues si will have to reduce my dosage of androcur but i am scared.. and yeah...getting off med is what i fear most...
i guess i am lucky in a way cause my acne cleared in two days, i dont have unwanted hair anymore, but it took longer for the shedding to stop...
do you think you can stay on androcure all your life?

Default Estrogens..

I myself suffer from hair loss and its stressing as well as heartbreaking. Ive been doing some extensive research about how our hormones in conjuction with our body's function play into PCOS and found some very interesting material.. Phytoestrogens which are plant based may be the very ticket some of us are looking for. Many who suffer from hair loss have taken notice that its sheds in cycles. One month it might shed heavily and another very little. This is due in part to the cycle of our female bodies riding the hormonal wave so to speak. Not everyone has the same cycle but we are all about the same in its nature. Most who loose hair find its in the region that is commonly called the "male pattern baldness" a thinning or defused region on the top. This condition is called Androgenic Alopecia. What many dont realize is its reversable over time. The type that is not reversable is Alopecia Areata and this form is centered around an autoimmune skin disease which in turn most suffers go completely bald. Andorgenic Alopecia however is brought on by an inbalance of hormones. Many older women in menapause are seen with thinning hair they also suffer from a drop in estrogen levels. Now most of you remark that your tests show everything to be normal..yes they were at the time the tests were given your female body function was at its highest as you rode the "wave" as I like to call it. But then it drops over time back and the male hormone "testosterone" is now back in control dominating your delicate estrogen. That's when many will see shedding occuring again. At this time your estrogen levels are back to normal but the male side is higher dominating them. So when you begin a regiment of Phytoestrogen in your diet it fools the body into believeing estrogen is low and inceases it. This then set into motion a release of FSH and LH which will stimulate follicle production. Many opt for synthetic drugs that can damage or harm vital organs like your kidneys or liver over long periods of use..but soy is all natural with no side effects. China has the lowest cases of hair loss due in part to a high intake of soy in the diets so can a billion chinese be wrong..(giggles) its worth taking another look and really giving it a try. It takes 4-6 month to start seeing any results but if your like me..time is all I have since PCOS.

I eat a lot of soy, so I am not opposed to it, but I believe that PCOS both testosterone and estrogen dominance.
