Finalization party ideas?

Hi all!

We are trying to come up with an idea for a little party after tha finalization. It will be in October so it cannot be outside in the cold colorado weather. Our townhome is a decent size, but not big enough for more than 10 people. So we were thinking about dinner somewhere but at the risk of sounding tacky we cannot afford to feed 30-40 people.

Do I just not have a party? I don't know what to do!!!

Any suggestions?

Congrats on your finalization !! yay !!

I betcha if you went out to dinner somewhere people would be more than happy to join you AND pay for their own...
without it being tacky and I bet they would even pay for yours

If not there is no harm in having people over in an "open house" style to celebrate with you and serve a cake in the afternoon or even after dinner one evening (have those closest to you come for lunch/dinner)

Otherwise I am sure if you just asked people if they wanted to come in and sign their best wishes for your baby in a book they would come in droves

Everyone LOVES a baby ! LOL

Congtrats. I say have a party at your house. Maybe not everyone will show up at once and so what if it's crowded!! KWIM? Maybe serve sandwhiches and cake??????

I have a lot of flaky friends so that doesn't help matters! LOL

We will actually be finalized Oct 11. Not yet... but soooo close I can taste it!

well if you were in canada, oct 11th is thanksgiving, how appropiate would that be?
i also liked the suggestions of either going out for dinner/brunch, or having an open house, either way would be fun. i have flacky family as well, so our finalization party was cancelled.
