That is wonderful news about the finalization being scheduled. Yeah!
I'm also to hear your DH is back from deployment. How long had he been deployed for?
You are full of great news tonight! YAY for you all!!

I can't wait to hear that you have your court date! Are you guys going to do anything special? My parents will be there, not sure about MIL. We will probably go to dinner afterwards. Thanks for the compliment about ds....he is pretty cute
Mary, dh was deployed for 60 days. Not a long time in the grand scheme of things, but he had only been home about 7 weeks before he had to leave again....I've been a single parent for half of ds's life! I'm just so glad to be a family again!

It is getting closer and closer to your finalization date! Anyway, I have a question for you. How long did it take to get notice of your hearing after you filed?
I spoke to my agency today and they filed this week. She estimated within a few weeks we will get a date. I feel like she tells me something different each time! No biggie just curious how long it took you once you filed.
Did you get your ATIN yet?
Take care
Tricia

Dh and I have decided adoption is right option for us!
Our son Sam was born 11/07/03 and came home to us on 11/12/03, oh the miracle of adoption!

yep, our date is just around the corner.... Can't believe it! In answer to when we got our court date after they filed for us...it took about two weeks. They were trying to get us a court date ASAP as we don't know when dh will have to deploy again and we wanted to have this finished before he left. I definately wanted dh to be home when we went to court!! Our attorney's legal assistant is just awesome. She called the judge the day she got the paperwork back from the courts and got us scheduled on their next available day.
As for the ATIN, I laugh at your comment! ha ha ha ha ha ha. No. Of course we haven't gotten our ATIN. It's still a sore subject with me....we got a letter on Monday dated April 16th from the IRS office in Jacksonville, FL. Evidently, that's where the tax law office is. These were the people who were going to research it and get back to me within 30 days. Well, according to this letter, they couldn't give me the number because the number can only be given to the person who's name is on the form requesting the ATIN. Uh, okay. My name's on that form! But the thing that really got me was that they said that due to homeland security issues, it could take awhile to get an ATIN issued for our international adoption....sigh. What a bunch of fools. I need to call and check on what they are doing for us, but I'm sure they won't have it. At this rate, we'll have a SSN before we have the stupid ATIN. Ridiculous!!
Ugh. I'm off to soak in a nice long bath....ds sounds like he's done screaming for the night, so it's safe for me to take some me time, I hope!
Keep in touch and let me know when you get your date!
April
PS...did you get a bm gift yet? I'm still on the hunt for the perfect angel charm....
