Hi everybody,
My name is Lisa. I am so grateful I have found this forum. It is a fabulous resource!
I was diagnosed this month with PCOS after 20 years of infertility, surgeries due to multiple cysts, and the loss of 1 tube and 1 ovary when a cyst collapsed them. I have 1/3 of my remaining ovary left, and I'm hoping that is enough to get the job done!
I went to OB/GYNs my entire adult life, and not one of them ever even considered PCOS even though I have just about every symptom. I went to my general MD this month for a physical, and I asked him what he thought of me having PCOS. We reviewed my history and did some tests, and I now have a diagnosis.
I am about to turn 40, and I had basically given up on my dream of being a mother. He has given me 1,500 mg of metformin, and hopefully that will be enough to induce ovulation. I am afraid to get my hopes up, but I will accept the outcome regardless of what it is and continue to live my life to the fullest.
I wish you all the very best on your PCOS journey, and I thank you again for this wonderful site!
