Hi gals,
I am crying since yesterday when HPT was negative and today AF arrived. As you can see in my signature, I tried clomid 3 cycles and dint work. I was really hopeful with this cycle. I responded well with 100mg clomid,so I thought this is it. But No, man proposes, god disposes.
Now I am really confused should I take a break this cycle or go ahead with clomid 100 mg again this 4th cycle. I am really tired of taking clomid, going for ultrasounds and all that pressure. I heard clomid stays in system till few months. So I want to take a shot with lowcarb diet, regular exercise and preseed. But on the other hand I think with pcos, it would be very difficult to ovulate on my own. What should I do?
Any suggestions??

Has hubby had a SA done? If not, I would suggest this and stay on the clomid again and see what happens. It seems to be making you ovulate and that's the first step.
If he has, and you're really just sick and tired of all the hoopla that comes with the clomid, you could sit this cycle out and try soy instead. I did that this last month and even though it didn't work I still knew that I o'd and that we had a chance. It was a much more relaxing month for me, and a nice little break.

Thanks Chaotic Chris for replying. We would be cycle buddies this time also.
I am also thinking to get DH's SA done. I am little scared about Soy, Vitex and all those alternative herbs as I have not done proper research about those. So I am thinking just to have Low carb diet, good amount of exercise, preseed and ovulation kit. Does it sounds like a good idea? Does clomid stays in system after 3 cycles of taking it?
Any more suggestions and advices?

I don't know if Clomid stays in your system. But if you're sick of taking it, it certainly wouldn't hurt to take a month off of Clomid, exercise, eat healthy, and just see if you ovulate on your own. It's just one month, right? Do you ever ovulate on your own?

If you were to stop the Clomid for a cycle, I would take additional B6 supplements to help with the luteal phase. Clomid usually corrects luteal phase defects, and B6 is supposed to help with that also. Good luck!
Hope4mom, have you done any IUIs? It's another step you can add to a Clomid or injectables cycle. I did 8 cycles of Clomid, almost all of them straight through. Three of them were done with IUI. But since moving on to injectables, the RE realized from baseline blood work that my issues may go beyond PCOS. Your DH should definitely get an SA done. Also, have you had an HSG done?

My HSG is still pending. I am scared to go for it. This month my hubby will go for his SA analysis done.
We have made the decision. I am again going for 4th round of clomid. Because there is no guarantee that I would ovulate on my own and dont want to waste one more cycle, as we are deseparate for baby. Tommorw is my cd 3 ultrasound. I will discuss more options with doctor. How about adding Metformin with clomid? I heard it controls increased testosterone levels.

Metformin controls blood sugar. I haven't heard of it controlling testosterone, though there are other drugs that can do that. Have you had any bloodwork done?

Yes I have had my bloodwork done. Everything is normal other than elevated testosterone levels and low estradiol levels.

Hope4mom, I'm not 100% sure about this, but I read online that adding a cup of spearmint tea to your daily routine can lower testosterone and increase female hormones in general. It's worth looking up and reading about it.

Oh, and the HSG isn't too bad. If you add IUI to your routine, it's a much similar procedure, it's not painful, just uncomfortable. That is, unless you have blockages. I don't know how it feels if you have blockages. I was all clear, but I definitely think you should get it soon. If you have blocked tubes, you're wasting your time with Clomid because your eggs can't make it through the tubes.
