That is amazing news!!! I have been paying up to $70 a month for my yasmin. I just recently changed insurance, and I pay less, but I'm sure I'll pay even less with a generic brand, thanks for the info! | |

You're welcome! I'm always looking to help my cysters! I couldn't believe it even after I read the article! Well, today I went to pick up my Metformin from the pharm and I spoke with my the pharmacist who informed me that it is offically on the shelves!!! I'm STOKED I'm going to my dr on Wednesday! I can't wait!

I just picked up generic Yasmin yesterday and it's still $60. Hopefully with the generic the price will only go down if anything. | |

Hey girlies!!! WEEEEEEEEELL! I went to the DR yesterday to get my new RX for generic Yasmin "Ocella". I picked up the meds today and I'll be taking the first pill tonight! YAY!!!
Oh yeah! While I was at Walmart picking up my Rx (Snellville, GA) the pharm. tech. didn't put in my insurance information so my total was $50. I asked how is that and if they had my insurance info on file. She took my information and guess how much my copay was....  $10!!!!!!! 
OMG!! I'm so excited!

Hey. I was taking yasmin and my prescription ran out. So I went to Walgreens to ask them to fax my new doctor for a renewal. Well, I picked it up today and realized when i got home it said "ocella" and not yasmin. So I'm wondering, is this generic form the same exact formula as yasmin?? I really liked yasmin and it was really helping with my pcos symptoms. | |

It has to have all of the same active ingredients but I read that with most generics the only difference is price because they don't have to make money to make up for research and everything that had to be done to make the drug in the first place, while brand names do. That's why legally there is like a 7 year period where no generics can be produced... so they can make some of the money back. | |

I went to get my rx refill for Yasmin today and they said that they'd given me the generic instead. I basically started jumping for joy, and when I found out that my copay was only FIVE DOLLARS, it was all I could do not to start giggling with glee. Hooray!!!!!!!
