I've waited three months for af, and it's here today...even though my endo warned me that it's incredibly unlikely that I'lll o w/o meds, should I go ahead and take soy cd 3-7 and give it a try?? Is there hope, or should I just wait until they give me provera and clomid in Feb?

i think that there is definately hope and it's worth a shot......i haven't O'd since april08 and i am in the middle of my first soy cycle and FF and showing that i not only ovulated but did so on cd9!!!!!!! I took clomid earlier this year and was up to 150mg but i did not O at all.
Is there a reason your doc didn't give you clomid now instead of waiting? If there is a good reason for that, then I wouldn't take soy either...
Taking soy isoflavones is just like taking clomid since it is just a plant-based version of what Clomid is (a "SERM"). So it could trigger you to O, just like clomid might.
But if it was just an issue of timing, etc, then I'd say go for it...

No, there is no medical reason for me to wait, it was just a matter of when I could get an appointment. She also said it wouldn't hurt to give the met a chance (I was recently upped from 1500 to 2500), but it really was all just scheduling. I bought the soy isoflavones today, and will take 80mg cd 3-7. I am so frickin excited. I shouldn't do this to myself.
Thank you for the info

Good luck to you. I just started soy too so I guess we'll both figure out how we like it :-)

thanks everyone! I'm going to take 80mg of soy starting tomorrow until cd 7. Does anyone know if it matters if you take them in the morning or at night?

i don't know that it really matters but many like to take it at night to avoid any side effects that they may have.....i took them at night and i didn't notice any side effects
Good luck on your soy cycle. I did soy this month as well. I am currently on cd 14 and haven't ovulated just yet...but even on clomid I don't ovulate until cd 19. I think you are smart to do the soy this month...what harm can it do? I also took my soy at night...the only side effect I have had was headaches. Best of luck!
