Default Finally! I just had to tell someone TMI

I just had to tell someone that might understand somewhat...not like I could tell someone in real life! LOL

About 3 weeks ago I had my yearly check up and I asked the ob/gyn if she would drain a cyst that I had in my privates. She drained one last year with no problems. This one was there last year but it was smaller and she just said to take warm baths and try to get it myself. I had no luck. It was a hard little knot under the skin.

So she took a needle and poked it 3 different times and got just a little bit out of it. She said to take warm baths to keep it open to drain and to let her know if it seemed infected. Well two days later it was red and swollen down there.

So she looked at it and gave me something for the infection. Two days later on a Saturday the whole right half (cut your privates in half down the middle) was swollen, I would say about 3 times normal size. And soo sore! I took a warm bath and was able to see the needle holes that she made. So I took a needle to it and barely touched it and it started to drain. Boy did it smell.

It stayed swollen for at least a week. I took two rounds of the meds. And it drained for another week after the swelling went down. This past week it didn't drain as much but looked like a pimple with a white head on it. I kept taking warm (hot) baths to keep it open.

Well tonight I finally was able to pop this hard little pebble like white stuff out of it. That was what was the hard stuff under the skin for all these years! imagine the size of a ball of pepper that goes in a pepper mill, thats how big it was. (I just happen to be looking at a pepper mill and see it was about the same size! LOL)

The stuff smelled! Just like a few weeks ago when I first got the infection to start draining. YUCK!

I now have a little hole down there that looks like the size of this " o " !

But I am so glad to have finally got that out! It has not been sore but looked gross, like I had a pimple ready to pop!

So if you read this far, I'm sorry for grossing you out but thanks for listening! My DH is I'm sure sick of hearing about it. All he said was that he didn't want to see it all swollen up! LOL

Actually it was interesting. It kind of sounds like what happened to me but mine was a sore on my leg that had gotten infected.
I am sure sorry that you had to go through that though. hopefully the hole will go away sooner.

I had one of those. It finally drained on its own. It was a pain. I also had one on my butt cheek that had to be lanced. Now I have 2 scars that look like indentions.

I have a pilonidal cyst, so I can dig it.

(Basically, there's a space at the base of my spine, and it tends to fill up with fluid and then and drain. When it gets infected, it hurts like hell and requires lots of sitting around in hot baths, and results in foul-smelling purple goo. How's that for TMI? )

Remember to keep the area extra clean, and a few more warm baths wouldn't hurt (keep the area supple and less likely to itch as it heals).

Oh I know about the itching! It sucked when it was swollen and itched. If I did itch it, even with out thinking, it hurt so bad! The doctor thought I was odd for telling her I was taking 3 baths a day! LOL But I think it helped early on.

I had to have one lanced several years ago and all I can say is, OMG that hurt so bad, and they had even injected some numbing stuff but it didn't help (the shot itself was extremely painful).
Right now I think I have that HS unfortunately, ever since my last pg, I have tons of cysts that just will not go away, even if I can get them to pop.

I get those a lot (boils) but calling it a cysts sound better lol! Same experience you had. I have had quite a few lanced and busted LOTS on my own. The lancing at the er/clinic was EXCRUSIATING! I was on a morphine drip and still felt everything!

Glad your feeling relief!

I love this thread.

I feel so victorious when I get one of my cysts to go away, although I don't think I have ever had one like this.

You know that rogue eyebrow hair that you accidentally break while trying to get it? Then you have to wait for it to grow back, only to break it again?

I get the same feeling when I finally get that sucker, too!

I have had 5 of them and have had to have stiches for 2 of them. they come up about 1-2 times a year. Sometimes soaking works. Sometimes it is just a white head and I can pop it (but not in the bedroom, messy on the sheets) If I pop it the white head rock shoots out... (yes! gross) But if I need it lanced I get stiches.... They suck... I really think part of it is PCOS.. but the doctors say NO..

Actually, when I got diagnosed with type 2, they tested me for it because of a huge boil that needed to be lanced. She said they often see that in diabetics. My new Dr says diabetes and PCOS have a link. So I think your right. So many cysters hear get these.
