I have always had problems with acne, especially on my chin. I would get painful pimples that would last for weeks and would then leave a red mark for months.
I started using aspirin masks a few weeks ago and my acne has cleared up, my skin has never looked so clear before!
I take 3 or 4 uncoated tablets of aspirin, put them in a little bowl and then add a few drops of water. (Be sure to only add a few drops, you don't want it too runny; it takes a minute or so for them to become a paste) Then I put it on my problem areas and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Pimples that I could feel starting never came out and my red marks faded, I can barely see them now!
Has anyone else had success with aspirin masks?

Wow, I'll try anything. Never heard of it before, but just googled it after I read your post. Lots of success stories! But how does it work for your skin, I mean what's the magic ingredient?? I will buy some aspirin today.
Thanks for the tip!
wow... i can't wait to try this.... it sounds simple and aspirin is pretty inexpensive..... i'm just curious.. how did you hear about this and how often do you do it? once a week? thanks!
Also! Something you might like to try. I make my own astringent by crushing up uncoated aspirin and pouring those into a bottle of witch hazel. It honestly does help with acne and it's inexpensive! I buy the .99 bottles of witch hazel and aspirins from one of the dollar stores and a whole bottle lasts forever.

I will be trying this as well! I just got an rx for Klaron lotion from my doc. I just started it, but nothing has worked. I have painful cystic acne as well. I hope this works!

Does it get absorbed into the bloodstream? I'm breastfeeding and don't want to do anything that will pass into my milk...but my acne is so bad!!
I was thinking something along the same lines when I was going to go buy aspirin. I have always had asthma and been told to stay away from taking aspirin and to take tylenol or advil instead. I'm going to try to find out before I try it. Let me know what you find out and I'll update if I find anything.

this one sounds easy enough and worth trying...i do, however, will warn about using more than two aspirins...it is possible for the aspirin to be absorbed into the bloodstream especially if your skin is broken. If you've been warned about taking aspirin you might want to talk to you doc before starting this one...it does seem to have merit...aspirin is an anti-inflammatory, as we all know, so it probably helps with the redness and swelling...i'm gonna try and let y'all know...GOOD LUCK CYSTERS!!

Today I'm almost desperate enough to try anything. I can always tell when my period is about to start because I normally have neck acne anyway, but it gets WAY worse right before I get PMS. Nothing I've tried has totally taken care of it. It didn't help that my parents and I went out to eat and once we got in the restaurant, my dad started asking about the RED bumps all over my neck. He's the kind who talks loud enough for the whole place to hear, so mom quickly said "it's part of her problem". He doesn't get it. She said "you know, her PROBLEM. The bumps are part of that and won't go away."
Honestly, if it wasn't that my dad never comments on appearance so for him to say something it must look as horrible to other people as it does to me, that conversation would be funny.
Not sure I should try tge aspirin, although I would like to. I have a blood clotting issue and take a baby aspirin for that anyway. If this mask affects the blood stream, it would probably be too much for me.

The active ingredient in many over the counter acne preparations is salicylic acid (aspirin) and there are no warnings listed on mine about anything other than dry, irritated skin if you combine it with other acne treatments. I don't know how much aspirin they use in those, but if those are safe, I wouldn't think my own concoction would be any less safe unless I use too much aspirin, but if you have reason to be concerned, then I would absolutely check with your doctor first.
