We are going through the State adoption system currently and we are a little nervous about them looking at our finances...we are able to support children, but we had mistakes in our past on our credit report and we have very poor credit. I am just pray they don't disqualify us for that...any insite would be great!!!

I have the poorest of poor credit because when we were first married we were foolish. But that didn't hurt us... We did domestic though. But I don't think any agency looks at credit, just at income. I know at the agency I work for we don't even as for what you spend, just the last income tax you filed...And we don't look at it, it's just for your dossier
We did a domestic also, our social worker asked us about income and stuff but nothing too intrusive. I think they just want to know that there is sufficient income to support a child. Good luck!!!!

We are waiting to adopt through the state and recently were licensed for foster care. Both times all we had to give were a recent paystub and a budget or current bills and any loans we had. They have never asked about our credit or even asked for proof of anything other than the pay stub.

my husband and I adopted 3 beautiful vibrant siblings from the foster care system in Massachusetts they looked at our current incomes never our credit score.
DH and I are currently going through the same thing as you are right now. The social worker did ask to check our credit, but that was over a month ago and nothing's been said so far. *crossing fingers* I think we'll be ok.
