Question Finasteride/Propecia

Hello everyone.
I've been experiencing hair loss for about 2 years. The last 9 months or so it's been getting a lot worse. It's thin all over, especially on the top at the back. Standing in my bathroom I can see my scalp through my hair almost everywhere. Needless to say, this is absolutely devastating.
I finally got in to see an Endo today (waited 4 months for an appointment). He has prescribed me Finasteride 5 mg. I'm kind of excited to be able to take this, in hopes that my hair will decide that it wants to grow again. But I'm a little scared as well. I'm just wondering if anyone else has taken this or is taking it? And what your results were? I would really appreciate any information.
Thanks so much

I've taken .5mg of propecia for almost a year. While it hasn't REGROWN hair, it has stopped hair loss for me. No more shedding. And I've also noticed a real decrease in my body hair (navel, thighs). Some spots on my lower leg are actually bald. Moderate decrease in acne. No side effects.
