We went to get fingerprinted in Boston yesterday and arrived to a packed house. I couldn't believe how many folks were there for whatever INS issues they had.
So we presented our request to be fingerprinted, which said to come in any day this week Tues-Sat. The girl at the desk said "sorry we can't help you today. You'll have to come back sometime next week."!!! You've got to be joking! So we scheduled an appt. for next Tuesday and they better keep it!
Oh--and this happened to at least 2 other people from my agency yesterday too. Now we are each going either the end of this week or next week. If all else fails maybe all of our papers will go to China together.
Why on earth did they sent us a letter to come in any day this week then not let us get it done? They could have let us schedule an appointment from the start. I realize other people have business to get done but if we sent our application in they could make the process easier (and more convenient!) to let people make appt. ahead of time.
And let's not even get into the fact that DH has a top military clearance and we both have our fingerprints on file from our last adoption. This has been the most frustrating part of our 2nd adoption.
Maybe I should have posted this in rant! Lol!
OK...I feel better now!

Hope this all gets straightened out SOON! Kathryn |

Here we just got a letter that said these are the hours, show up sometime in the next thirty days. They don't even take appointments here, you have to go wait in line.

KKat--Yup, they make you do the whole process over again even though we have only adopted Emily a year ago. I'm not complaining (too much!) about that part of it but this f/p stuff is for the birds!
Brandy--We received a letter telling us to come in to the office anytime this week to be f/p but when we got there they told us to make an appt. Talk about inconvenient.

Hope all goes well with your appointment next week. I can't believe you are so far along in your paperchase. Congrats.

Points: 6,320.75 Bank: 2,434,762.27 Total Points: 2,441,083.02 | Thankfully we got our f/p done without a hitch yesterday. Our appt. was for 1PM and we arrived at noon to check in and just in case they would take us early. They did--and we were in & out in 22 minutes. The longest part was because I had to have some fingers redone because they came out too dark.
So now we wait....about 4-7 weeks, I think, until we are approved and then the papers can be authenticated & translated and sent to China.
