Is there anyone who was on Met and is now off it after it has helped you?

I'm on 1700mg a day. (I have been having regular AF since last July for the first time ever!)

I'm just wondering am I on it for life?

After I lose weight and get healthy, Af on my own for longer....can I wean myself off Met and stay healthy and have AF?

Diagnosed: Feb 10th 2004
Medications: 1500mg Metformin (Started May 28th 2004)
Increased to 1700mg on December 2nd 2004
Stopped Metformin April 2006

Started Vaniqa on December 1st 2004

Started Yasmin on August 14th 2005
Changed to Nuvaring April 2006

Stopped Nuvaring January 2007

Started Metformin again in May 2007
July 2007 up to 1700mg a day

Hi I was told that I have to stay on it till I get all my weight off and I started at 283 and am down 20 in about 6 months.

I seen on another board (forget which) a lady whose Endo took her off met since she lost weight and they are going to keep on eye on here levels to make sure things dont start slipping again.
