Fires

I sincerely hope that anyone who has been affected by the recent and current fires in the ACT,NSW, and NE Victoria, that you and your family are safe and well.

My heart goes out to the people affected by the fires.

I've grown up in the volunteer fire brigade and was a volunteer myself, my father still is, and now my brother is permanent.

I know that some FF's from NZ have come over to help you guys out...and I soooo hope things stay well and that no one is hurt and that people don't lose their houses and stuff.

Heres to wishing for some rain in aussie...........about 2/3 days worth of rain to wet it all down and stop the fires.

Unfortunately houses have been lost, and so far 4 people have died.

Living in a community where fire is a constant worry during summer, we are very grateful for all the New Zealand FF's that have come to help. In times like these, its so good to see the ANZAC 'mateship' still going strong!

Mind you...at least houses can be replace

I haven't really been following it much on the news...but I do know that things are pretty bad.

Yes...it is nice to see good ole ANZAC mateship still happens. Nice to know that in some way we can help.

I did see something on the news the other night...the kiwis that are over there were saying it was funny listening to the aussie "slang"

Big hugs to you all in Aussie affected by the fires...I'm trying to send some of Windy Wellington's rain we are currently having over to you guys!!!

I was glad to hear on the news last night that the fires in Canberra were finally under control. That was a huge loss - over 400 homes were lost along with 4 lives. Whole subrubs caught alight - it was really awful to see on the TV...

I'm really wishing hard, for rain, to blanket the whole country - we need it for the fires, and for the drought.....

Please take care if you are close to any of the areas affected
