Default First af after m/c

I had my first miscarriage on 10/26/07. I started to induce af around cd 50something. I finished my last provera pill Sunday nite and af arrived this morning on cd 63! I suspose the m/c really threw off af because since starting the met. 1000 mgs on 3.20.07 I am pretty regular (I was around five weeks when I m/c'ed). Af is pretty heavy and painful and a lot clots, is this normal? I never had clots except for when I m/c'ed?
I go in for baseline u/s in the morining to see if I am ready to ttc again. I didn't have a d&c, the day of my m/c my beta was only five (started out at 34).
Any advice or thoughts to why af is so heavy, painful and full of clots, please advise.
Thanks in advance,
(I did take a hpt before starting provera and it was neg~btw)
