Default First Appointment with Endo

I am new to this board and need some insight. I have my first appointment with my endo on Monday. I am SO nervous about what is going to happen. I really hope that I get answers, but I also hope that I am not setting myself up for a let down. When I called to make the appointment the girl told me that the first opening he had was Sept. but then she told me that she had a cancellation for Monday, so of couse I took it!!

Can anyone tell me what general happens at the first appointment? My gyno's office is sending over all the paperwork they have with labs and ultrasounds.

I really want to start more meds. I am on Met, but only 1000mg a day and it doesnt seem to help anything.

Any advice would be VERY welcome!!!

I am going for the treatment of PCOS. We have already been thru seeing a RE and it went great. It looks like that is what you are getting ready to do. Feel free to email me if you have any questions or need to chat.

Ok, I went to my Endo appointment yesterday. UGH!!! The first thing he said was that Gastric By-pass surgery helps with PCOS and I need to think about maybe doing that in the future. He told me to diet and exercise and I just need to lose weight. No Duh!!! I raelly have to say that walking out of this mans office I didnt learn anything more than I already knew. I go THrusday for an ultra-sound and I have to have a bunch of blood work done, so I am not giving up yet. My DH thinks that he mentioned the surgery because that is what most people want to hear.

WHy does this have to be so difficult??!!

i pretty well know the usless feeling you must be experience at the moment.. seems that they keep on telling us the same stories over and over again.. i dont mean they arent right.. is just that sometimes it the way you tell it that makes the difference..

good luck for the u/s and the blood exams.. ((((hugs))))
