First Cycle of Clomid - Buddy wanted

Hi Everyone,

I was just posting to ask if anyone will be starting clomid in the next few days.

I am currently on CD26 so just waiting for AF then will be taking Clomid on days 2 - 6 and looking for a buddy.

I think AF will be here in approx 6 days and I am taking 50mg on CD2 - 6.

Have you taken Clomid before? I see your dose is quite high??

I have not taken it before, I am having regular AF but the CD23 bloods I had a few months ago showed no O.

Good luck anyway.

I have prepared DH and told him I may get a bit cranky and he said nothing that unusual then!! lol MEN!!

Hi Wendy

This will be the first time for me to ever take Clomid. I think my dose is high because of my age. This is all new to me because I have just finally been diagnosed, even though I've probably shown symptoms of PCOS since I was about 18. I could never find a doctor who knew what he was doing, and then I just gave up for years and years, figuring a baby wasn't going to be possible for me. So, hopefully this is going to work out for us and change our lives!! I start my first dose in 6 days now!

Hi Pirick,

It is also the first time I will take Clomid, two other board buddies I chat with have recently got PG on their second round so I am filled with excitment and anticipation.

I am still waiting for AF to arrive but my temps have been dropping and I am cramping so I think I may take my first tablet on Saturday or Sunday. I am thinking of taking it in the evening befroe I go to bed, just in case there are side effects. I look through the litrature that came with the drugs and it did not reccomend a spcific time.

Are you being monitored? I am going to have a follie scan on CD10/11 I hope.

OOOh 23rd will be here soon enough.

My RE had me take one cycle of BCPs, then told me to not take the fake ones, and just wait four days after the last real BCP and start taking the Clomid. I don't think he's going to check follicles on this first round. I took my last BCP yesterday, and started my period! I was so excited!! I started charting my temp this morning so all this is about to officially start!

My Clomid Buddy!! How are you doing?

I am CD4 today and have started the clomid, rang the fertility clinic yesterday and have a follie scan at 9am on Wednesday 30th Jan. I feel Really excited

I have told DH he has to come home early from work from at least CD11!! lol

When are you taking your tablets? I am taking them in the evening after dinner and I have not had any side effects yet. I have felt a little bit tearful but that is actually normal for me!!

Hi Honeyakon,

Just bumped this thread up from page 3.

Well my first cycle of Clomid is a bust as AF arrived today. Dissapointed but feel better knowing I may just need to up my dose fomr 50mg to 100mg.

I took mine CD2 to 6 but no O until approx CD22.... I had 3 follicle tracking scans and on CD12 I had no dominant follicles, one started to take the lead finally on CD17 at 11.5 and on CD21 it was 18mm. Bit worried as I think my luteal phase is kinda short but I have hope and optimism for the next cycle.

How is everyone else that was doing Clomid this cylce?

Sorry to here af turned up but at least your body responded to the clomid so that is very good my fingers are crossed for this cycle

I'm on cd 16 now and no surges on opk's at all which is worrying me. As i had my scan on cd 13 (this tue )and i had two follicles on my right ovary at 14mm,But cant see my right as i have a large cyst on it booo ,but it looked like my clomid was or is working ,And and my lining is fine and looks like i should ov over the weekend. But with no surges on my opk's(ok iv read not everyone has them. But the only time i got a pos, my opk got gradually darker for 5 days till the pos!. that was two years ago since then all iv had is faint lines. )I'm really worrying im not going to ov .I so desperately want to ov as iv been ttc for two years and not properly as iv not once ov'd. So just to ov this month whether i catch it or not?. Would meen so much as it would give me the same chances as a normal couple ttc for once .

I was told my my specialist, that as iv had two kids iv got proven fertility so she expects me to get a bfp at some point on my clomid within the four cycles i have !!.So that made me so so happy but now im worrying i wont ov .

I'm having another scan next Tue at 11.15 again to see if iv ov'd?.
and if the cysts have gone as she says usually when you ov the cyst drains but she wants to keep an eye on it as my first scan in June showed a big cyst and its still there .

and she has said if i dont get a bfp this cycle then each cycle i have to do after that ill get the trigger shot but she wanted to see if i can do this without much intervention first

Sorry this was long lol but iv got no one else to tell other than my Husband and i dont know anyone who has had clomid so my only point of reference is here as i dont want to pester the clinic lol

Hi Ladies!

Can I join your discussion? I was just prescribed 50mg Clomid by RE yesterday. My first appointment and already on the right track (quite pleased with that).

I'm on CD27, and have absolutely no idea when AF will show since I'm not ovulating on my own and cycles can last anywhere between 21 and 72 days.

The RE has me taking it on calendar days 2-6. Seems common with you, but most other people on the site take it much later. Is there a reason for this?

well ladies im cd 29 today had blood taken wednesday to check my progestrone. so far i have O'd every month on the clomid and always cd 20 so we will see! any questions ladies ask away! im a bit of an experrt now!
