Default First doctor visit

I was diagnosed w/ pcos about ten years ago and, apart from taking the Pill for a couple of years and taking part in some experimental treatments through UVa, I have not really done anything about it, except read a lot.
My symptoms have been pretty consistent the whole time: very irregular periods, some up and down moods, hair growth on my face and trouble losing weight.
About a month ago I started spotting (after no periods for a year or so) and it didn't stop, so I made an appointment. After an ultra-sound my doctor said that the lining of my womb had built up and gave me a course of progesterone to hopefully trigger a "flow".
My question is, should I ask for a comprehensive blood workup to check blood sugar etc.? Also, which medications should I ask about? My main concerns right now are the excess hair then getting my body in a position physically to ttc.
Thanks.

Absolutely get all the bloodwork.

Ask about Metformin. Thanks to Met I've had regular periods for the past 9 months. A lot of women are prescribed Spironolactone for hirsutism, so ask about that.
