Default First Endo Dr. Visit

I had my first Endo Dr. visit yesterday. I had a bunch of tests done; I almost feel like a little lab rat! He doesn't think that I have PCOS ... which I was dignosed in Aug of 2002, but maybe endometerosis. And if I do have PCOS ... it would be a mild case. Which wasn't the main reason why I went it. I have been having a second period ... that doesn't seem to go away. Instead of having one period a month ... I started having 2 ... which both of them together lasted anywhere from 20 - 25 days out of the month. ..Sigh..

So needless to say I am going in for blood work on the 9th. I am not hoping for a miracle over night ... just some answers.

That and when I had an ultrasound yesterday, he told me that the line on my uterus was thin ... it wasn't as thick as he would like it to be. I don't want to sound stupid ... but what does having a thin one mean? Or is there really anything different btwn having a thick vs. having a thin line?

Anyway, he sent me home with no BC but with antiboitics. He wants me to stay of the BC for a while so we can start fresh with hormones. Like I said b4 ... I just want to go back to having a somewhat "normal" period ... and just having one a month will be fine by me.

Please if you guys have any info on this thin vs. thick line ... and also if there is any info on how to read the blood test results ... that would be great! I just want to make sure that I am on the same page as the Dr. if not a lil more knowledgeable.

Thanks.

On my first visit with an re, she told me I had a thick lining, which is good. I assume that a thick lining is a good thing because it can better support the weight of a baby. I am just guessing, and don't really know for sure. That first visit is overwhelming, isn't it? Write down any questions you think of and ask them on your follow-up visit. My re recommended that I do this because it is so hard to think of questions while you are there, but as soon as I leave, I start thinking of lots of questions. Good luck and I hope you get some answers soon.

MMM....that's interesting. I was thinking thick lining because of absence of AF maybe?

I don't think that is it because I have af every 28-32 days. My re acted like having a thick lining is a very good thing.

You might have a thin lining because you are bleeding so much. When I skipped my period for 4 months, I had a VERY thick lining, so that's build-up. If you have a thin lining, then that means you are bleeding a lot. I hope they are going to check if you are anemic...

I already know that I am anemic. I was dignosed when I was in the 8th grade.

Thanks gals for all the help. I actually have a PCOS diary that I keep. In it I have questions, how I felt each day, etc. So that way when I go to the Dr I don't miss a thing. Maybe a lil over prepared.

Hopefully there are some answers at the end of the rainbow. I am not looking for a miracle over night, just something to help me out from day to day. I guess you can say I am looking for a new way of life.
