Unhappy First Hospital Appointment

Is in 18 days and I am getting a tad nervous.... all the blood test done in April showed things where okay but because no period in 10 months now I still got a refferral, I have suspected PCOS for some years but only finally saw my GP in April.

I am lucky to get an appointment so quick here in the UK on the NHS, as I expected to wait a lot longer...

I am wondering what to expect on my first visit to the gyn, I am guessing some quesitons and stuff but I am worried about the thought of being examined mainly because of my weight problem (I really don't think I would be too bothered it I was not overweight) and I suspect as with my GP I shall be told to lose weight.... easier said than done....

I am hoping to get a dignosis on the day as I really want to know one way or another... I am aware of the propect of having a scan but again I think it might have to be an internal one (too many rolls of fat) lol and I am seriously getting worked up about it now! I really don't want to back out....

Anyone got any advice...

i have had 4 or 5 gyn appts...and never been examined! they just ask how my pills have been give me a repeat prescription and send me for a blood test to check liver function.

for the scans...they are a bit uncomfortable...but they always dim the lights so they can see the screen better... http://soulcysters.net/showthread.php?t=123123

i have issues with internal stuff....but even i braved my scan!

no probs sweety! just take a few deep breaths...and ask the technician to explain everything as she/he goes along....it makes it a lot easier!
