Default First m/c 4/30/03...Now what?

Hello all,

I am very new here, but I would like to get some information if possible from ya'll. I had my first m/c at the end of April. I have a follow up appointment with my doctor this Thursday. I am going to ask to have some lab work done due to this m/c. I am going to ask for thyroid panel, prolactin level and a BUN/Creat due to the glucophage. Any other levels that I should ask for? I was diagnosed with PCOS in January, started on Glucophage and got pg in March. I feel very blessed to have gotten pg so easily, but I would like to find out if there is anything else wrong prior to getting pg a second time. Thanks for all of your help.

I am sorry about your loss. I too just lost baby #2 at the end of April. According to my RE, they will not do any tests unless I have had 3 m/c in a row. The odds are with us that we will have a baby one day. Let me know if you do find out about any tests. Again, I am sorry for your loss.

Ginlynn,

First, I am sorry for your loss. My m/c was devastating at the time and frustrating now that it has been 5 months and I'm not PG again.

I had all the tests you mentioned when I was diagnosed with PCOS in October. I really am not going to do too much this time. I will demand a progesterone test immediately if I get PG again. If I have a 2nd m/c I know we will have genetic tests done with the placenta. I didn't know to keep it when my m/c happened, next time I will.

I too got PG within 2 months of starting met and kind of chalked things up to poor egg quality. Unfortunately m/cs happen for a lot of reasons, most of which are never known.

Good Luck,

Kim
