Smile First RE visit since miscarriage, we have a plan......

I had my first visit with my RE since my miscarriage 4 weeks ago. He was disappointed with the news but optimistic that it will happen again. He was going to give me another 4 rounds of clomid but after I explained to him that I am O'ing late on clomid, he decided to hold off and give my body a break. I am to start B/C pills this week after I confirm a negative pregnancy test. I will do 2 rounds of B/C until January to keep my ovaries in check. Then I will begin clomid on cd 3-7, puregon injections from cd 6-10 to give my eggs a boost, hopefully trigger by cd 12. I may do an IUI depending on DH's semen analysis results. He said we can just time BD but IUI would increase the chances. If I produce too many eggs, they will automatically transfer the cycle to IVF at no charge to us. I am to continue metformin until then and throughout pregnancy as well. I had a series of tests today as well as a pap and some other swabs. I signed consent forms for the superovulation program as well. I know we talked about doing injections in the past but now that I actually will be doing it, I'm so nervous! I will have an appointment with a nurse to teach us how to give them. I will hopefully only need 50iu of puregon/day with the clomid. He gave me the puregon pen kit today too.

I hope you all don't mind me posting this on this board. You have all been so supportive through my loss that I wanted to share this with my cysters.

Hi there -

glad that you had such a productive appt withyour RE! At least now you have a goal to work towards and can enjoy all the holidays.

You had your m/c about the same time I had my D&C. I've been waiting on AF to show up and I had some light pink this afternoon so hope that means that AF is trying to show up. Dr told me that I have to get this period and then when the 2nd one starts I can start clomid again.

You mentioned that you were Oing late with clomid. How late is late? The 1st month I O'd on CD19 (50mg clomid) and 2nd month on CD21 (100 mg clomid) both months took it CD3-7. Dr has mentioned that he didn't like that I was Oing late but just thought that was normal because of the PCOS. Yet when I ended up with my 2nd month Oing late and then it ending in m/c just wondering.

GL with your future cycles!

I wish you the best with your plan. It is always scary to try again, but most of us are right there with you, wanting to hold a baby in our arms so intensely that we will risk the unthinkable. Hopefully this time all of your fears will be for naught and things will go smoothly. (((Hugs)))
