Default First Therapy appointment tomorrow. SCARED to death!!

I start therapy tomorrow. I know it's something I should have done a LOOOONNNGGGG time ago and I know I need to go. I am SO SCARED! I have a hard time talking to anyone. How am I supposed to open up to a complete stranger? Spilling all my "deep dark secrets"? Logically, I understand that he will be there to help me. However, I'm still going crazy about it all!!! I just wish everything was all better and I was "cured" . Wish me luck... PLEASE...

Just be willing to be open and honest! Remember they have heard it all!

And keep in mind that if for some reason you don't like the doc switch to a new one! The first one I went to I was uncomfortable with and I switched and got a good one!!

You'll be just fine! Infact you'll probably leave feeling better!

Best of luck!

For me, therapy is beneficial...first of all I had to get a female doctor (just easier for me). When I go in..every 2 weeks..it helps to see a stranger..they have an unbiased opinion because they don't "know" the people in your life. Once you go for a while, it becomes easier, because they become a "friend'. They get to know who you are and how you live. I think you will enjoy it. It feels good to Rant in person! Plus, they have great resources! Let us know how it goes! Good luck!
