Hiya and
It took me 14 days to get af after finishing my 10 day supply of 10mg provera. The information sheet my pharmacy gave me with the prescription said it can take 2-14 days. This was also the same time frame my doctor told me when he prescribed it. It's up to you when you call the doctor for their input, the worst thing they will tell you is to give it a few more days. It doesn't hurt to ask if you are worried about it.
I'm not really sure what the next step would be. It's hard to guess that since it largely depends on your personal situation and how your doctor approaches treatment. Here's what my doctor is doing. He gave me the provera to hopefully "jump start" my body into getting af regularly. I had been getting af every 31-32 days for the last 8 months since having my son, then she just stopped coming. So I wasn't without af for long, 1 85 day cycle. At the same time I was given the provera I was put on Met Er. I began to work my way to to 1500mg over the course of 3 weeks. Luckily, I did get af from the provera.
Right now my doctor is hands off. I have a follow up appointment in mid-October, to check my blood work and see how I have responded to the met. He is not going to give me any more provera at least until my follow up, he wants to see if the met is enough to make me regular again. My doctor is probably approaching this less aggressively than some other cysters because I have conceived in the past with out medical assistance. I hope that helps a little. I'm sure almost every cyster here will probably have a different version of how their doctor treats them.
