Default First visit with RE

Hi everyone, this is my first visit to the soul cysters board. My partner and I have been together almost 6 years and are just about to begin ttc. I have my first appt with RE on the 27th and I have no idea what to expect. Any advice or things I need to do before hand to prepare?

Its great to know that there is "family" out there going through the same things we are. I look forward to chatting with you.

Let me welcome you too!!

Me and Amanda will be TTC in about 2 years. But my body is soooo far from ready that I will begin taking Met soon.

I'm not sure that I can be able to answer any questions but these girls in this section are great!!

WELCOME!

Thanks for all the welcomes!

I am a nervous wreck about seeing the RE. I have this fear of not being able to have children, as I am sure a lot of us do. And knowing I have the problems that go along with PCOS only make those fears greater!

I was sort of diagnosed with PCOS about 6 years ago but have never had a doctor do anything about it. I recently moved and now have a new GYN who ran some glucose tests on me and diagnosed me as pre-diabetic but didn't go any further than telling me to go to a primary care physican to follow up. So I don't really know how all this ties into the PCOS and/or my ttc.

I'm hoping that the combination of a PCP and RE will help me overcome all these fears. And clear up all the questions I have about PCOS and ttc.

I look forward to getting to know you all better!

I don't know for sure, but my GYN told me that with me being put on met it should help with the weight and with the pre diabetes

Thanks for checking on me Netta! Things are going well, I met with the RE yesterday and it was an awesome experience! The doctor was amazing. We are waiting for him to get my glucsose test results from GYN and then will start up with all the meds. So I guess now begins my search for "Mr. Right"...or at least his sperm, lol. the office gave me the names of several of the sperm banks so I'm going to start looking today. And, I don't know if this is typical but the RE has storage for sperm right there in his office so I can order it ahead of time and he will store it for me. I'm trying not to get excited yet but it is so hard. I"m sure its going to be a roller coaster ride! It means alot that you are interested in whats happening, thanks so much!

Now enough about me, how are things going with you?

Default Best of Luck

Hello

I simply wanted to wish all of you good luck as you TTC. My partner and I are moms to our 2yo daugther and we've got to say - It's amazing to be a parent.

I was on met about 6mos before I started the IUIs. I used a low dosage of clomid for each IUI round along with a trigger shot of Ovidrel. I got pregnant on the third IUI. I was 33yrs old at time of conception and 34yrs old when I delivered.

My doctor was very confident I would get pregnant since I did respond to the clomid. I hope the same is the case for all of you.

If you've got any other questions, let me know.

Kelly

Oh, that's great. How old is your daugther? Mine is 2yo and right now a total blast. Everyone says "Terrible Twos" but we're actually having a good time now. Maybe her she-devil side is waiting to come out?

Default Hello

Netta

Hi. I got pregnant through using clomid to induce ovulation and then did IUI w/ the doctor. We used an unknown donor. We do have friends who used a known donor so they did it at home and got pregnant rather quickly.

I didn't ovulate on my own, so I needed the clomid. I was on metformin six months prior to taking the clomid.

I'm a bit confused - is your daughter just three months old and you are TTC again? Wow, you are one brave woman! I hope it works out! Good luck.

Kelly

well looks like things are on their way, I am beginning my Met & Clomid today and 12 day ultrasound is scheduled.

But here is my question...should I give the Met a few months to work before starting the IVF?

I am so ready but wow, things are happening so fast! I never thought I would have so many emotions about this whole process. Tell me that is normal...

Hope you are all doing well!
