Question Fish Oil and PCOS Symptoms (esp acne)!?

I posted in the skin issues thread but didn't get much of a response...I've been reading fish oil/Omega 3s can help with acne some and although I was taking fish oil I don't believe I was taking a quality supplement. I recently switched to a quality supplement a few days ago. I know that PCOSers have chronic inflammation issues and Omega 3s are supposed to counteract that (we, especially in the West/ America have too many Omega 6s in our diet and not enough Omega 3s)...I was wondering if anyone has truly seen benefits with fish oil and acne AND/OR any other PCOS symptoms!?? Thanks ladies!

I can't say much about acne and fish oil, but it has helped in other ways. My C-reactive protein was high (a measure of some type of inflammation) before I started taking 2 high quality fish oil supplements every day. After a month, my levels were cut in more than half, down to a safe level. My DH had horrible asthma as a kid, and had trouble breathing during seasonal changes and whenever the weather dramatically changed. He started taking the fish oil when I did, and hasn't had any problems for a year.

There are tons of fish oil supplements out there, but my doctor recommended Nordic Naturals because it's highly purified (and the one he takes). It's more expensive than most ($38 for 180 at Whole Foods), but I think it's worth it, especially considering the issues regarding mercury and other heavy metals in fish.
