Thumbs up Five O'clock Shadow No More!

Seriously, I hate 5 o'clock shadow. I literally sometimes feel like I have a beard. I can't wax (breakout really badly, and it grows back SUPER fast anyway), tried laser (grew back anyway because my hormones are out of wack), etc.. So I shave with an electric razor.. not the coolest thing to do, but it's best for me because its quick and easy. Anywho, I STILL get five olock shadow though, until I found out how to get freakin rid of it! I bought that NoNo! from HSN (the thing sephora makes). I did it for about a week, and also shaved. For the FIRST time in forever, I don't have 5 oclock shadow. Yay! Yayyyy!!!! I'm really happy because now I'm not afraid if people touch my face. I'm sure other people have other methods of hair removal that work for them, but like i said, nothing worked for me. So I just wanted to share that because I thought maybe another person has the same problem as I did.. key word, "did." :o)

That's great news!

So many cysters have been discussing the No! No! from Sephora...and anxiously awaiting a good review!

Thanx!

I ended up buying a No!No! a couple months ago... it didn't work for me at all! It was horrible. Maybe I got a dud, but as I've heard on the net, a lot of duds have been going around

And it says you aren't supposed to use it on your face, my skin is probably too sensitive to handle that lol

Right you are.. it says you're not supposed to use it on your face. However, after reading lots and lots of reviews where people used it on their face, I decided to give it a go. I don't use it on my upper lip, just on my chin area, which is less heat sensitive (it should be, I've abused it so much, lol). The reason they tell you not to use it on your face, I believe, is because it's SO much more likely that you'll burn yourself. I don't buy the bullcrap about Thermacon technology and whatnot. The truth is that the sucker burns off your hair, and thats about it, if you want my honest thought about it. Theres a FINE wire that basically heats up and burns your hair, literally. If you read all the info about it that they have in the manual and stuff with that in mind, I think you'll see what I'm saying.. anywho, that's why it work for me because it burns the hair all the way down (I mean the visible part, at least), hence no more 5 o'clock shadow for me. I wouldn't recommend it to everyone to use on their face, just me personally, I know its working for me in terms of the whole shadow thing (or lack thereof :o)

I am glad to hear it's working for you! How long does the hair have to be and how many times did you do it? I am assuming you are slightly red like laser treatments so long does the redness last for? Last question, do you only have to use it once a week or less? I am excited to hear this working!

I've Had My Own Struggle With The Shadow. I Made It Worse By Caking Foundation And Powder Over It. Not Pretty. Laser Hair Removal Did Work For Me, But We Are All Different. Good To Here About The Success Of The Nono. I Really Want One. I Wanted To Try It On Some Of My Embarassing Places.

Truthfully, I don't think it will really work as advertised, but after about 2 weeks it does really work for me with the shadow, but only if a use an electric razor afterwards. Again, without the nono, you see a REAL shadow no matter WHAT I do with that darn shaver. I used it everyday, honestly, but it says 2-3 times a week is good. It says something like 'use as often as you would use a razor' and for me that's everyday. It doesn't get red at all because it's not a laser-like treatment. It literally just burns hair off, like if you accidentally held your arm over a flame. It takes me about 4 mins to do my face..well, chin actually. I use a lot of foundation too, sometimes, to try to cover the shadow, but with the nono, I actually don't have to. I bought it from hsn once, but then i returned it. Afterwards, I regretted it, and bought it again. If you want to try it, you can get the flex payment thing.. 5 payments of 50 bucks. First time you pay 80, though for shipping and tax i believe. However, u can return it within 30 days of receiving your item (has to be postmarked by 30 days), anddd best of all, they refund the 11 dollar shipping you originally pay for it if you return it. Shipping back to them is about 7 dollars. It's definitely, definitely not for everyone, but I like it for my own reasons. :o)

I just got a no!no! last week. So far I have only used it on my lower legs. It doesn't give me shave. More like it trims the hair so I just have stubble. I figured it wasn't going to work for me until I shaved today. My legs have NEVER been so smooth. I have really dark, thick, course hair on my legs. (and lots of it!) And usually after a good shave I have stubble within a few hours. Not today. Seriously 16 hours later and they are still smooth! I haven't tried it on my chin. But I'm tempted if it will keep me smooth longer than an hour!

emisue, that's exactly what i mean! i kind of thought (at first), well.. this isnt really working. my legs (what i tried it on first) are stubbly. :o( but then i did it on my chin, and i realized that, after using the electric shaver after nono, it was for ONCE actually SMOOTH for more then like.. 5 seconds. woohoo! i think you'll notice that it will remain that way as long as you're using it, if u use it in conjunction with a razor/shaver. cmj, the no!no! is a device from sephora (that they also sell on hsn.com as well as ebay) that basically burns hair off. it requires the occasional blade change. it costs 250 dollars from sephora and hsn, and the blades are about 30 (but the first time you buy the nono, you get the blades for free with it). anywho, if you do a google search, i'm sure you'll find lots more info about it. you can probably watch the demonstration on hsn.com as well.

hey there.. just wanted to let ya'll know that today only, hsn is having a today's special on the no!no!. its 199 instead of 250, (4 payments of 50 dollars) and they're including a couple extra buffers/shavers. also, instead of the 11 dollars for shipping, it's free today. so you'd save about 51 dollars, plus the cost of the buffers and shavers. if anyone's going to try it, today would probably be the day to do so. :o)
