Default Fluoxetine (proxac) interacting with Met and weightloss

Hi,

I have had great success with Metformin in restoring my periods. TWO so far. I need to lose about 15 pounds and I am exercising and eat healthy. (didnt do extreme low carb yet). BUT low carb. I wanted to know if prozac interacts with the effectiveness in losing some of the pounds that Met may cause. I know I have been on Met for only 6-7wks, but I didnt see much change at all. Just was curious to know. I am planning on going off prozac anyways, because I was not that bad. Some anxiety bouts here and there but that was when I was on Provera. Just curious to see if anyone can give me some info that is useful. Thanks

Here is a little piece of an article. You might want to read the whole thing because it gives other reasons why prozac might act this way.

Taking Prozac to Stay Thin?

If you gain weight when you're depressed, and you get a prescription for antidepressant drugs, remind the doctor who prescribed the medication that you want one that doesn't cause more weight gain. While every patient is different, Serzone (nefazodone), Wellbutrin (bupropion), and Effexor (venlafaxine) usually don't cause much weight gain. Prozac-type medications may cause short-term weight loss but long-term weight gain in some people.
