Question Flutamide -- just starting, have ??s

I am just starting out on Flutamide 125mg 1/day. So far, after 2 days, I have felt no side effects. Should I up it to 2/day? My doc said I could work my up to 4/day, but like glucaphage, it will take some getting used to.

Is it normal to not feel side effects right away at this small dose?

and

At what point did you up your dose?

Thanks!!!

Lets all start a thread for those of us who are taking Flutamide (Eulexin) and Metformin together. I know several of us are in the care of Dr. Howard here in Texas, but anyone taking flutamide or who wants to know about it should post here too.

-What dose are you taking of both the Met and Flutamide?
-How long have you been on it?
-Have you noticed any side effects?
-Have you noticed any "good" changes?
-What other lifstyle changes have you made since starting treatment
-Anything else you would like to add

"Should I up it to 2/day?" i take 2/day now, and i feel nautious in the mornings. My doc prescried me totake 4/day, I will not take more than 2.

"Is it normal to not feel side effects right away at this small dose?" I felt really sick when i first started it, so you are very lucky! I am very curious about flutamide treatment for PCOS, as not many woman are doing it. I ask a lot of questions about it, and so far i'm not getting many answers.

"At what point did you up your dose?" I took 1 pill (125 mg) a day for a week, then upped it to 2 pills/say. my skin is so clear since starting, it's amazing.

Hmmm...I took 2 125mgs for a total of 250mgs total yesterday and still have felt absolutely no side effects. I suffered from severe nausea when I was pregnant for nearly 5 months, so I was prepared to have to deal with that again when I started the flutamide, but so far my appetite has actually increased. I am having some bloating, but that's normal whenever I start anything new. After 3 days, no noticeable changes in acne or hair.

I think I'll try to up it after a full week of 2 per day.

I haven't found much info online about pcos and flutamide so I'm pretty much relying on people here too...

I think it took around a week or two for me to truly notice results. My face was the first thing. When you see that your face isn't oily anymore then you know its working. Up your dosage as you feel comfortable. I started out at 1 a day and was very naseous. Every week or so I would add another one. My friend Mel though she can't take more than one a day without feeling horrible. I would just up it at your own pace.

I hope that helps. If you need more detail just let me know and i will try to get on here more often to see if there is something I can do for you.
Take care,
Ashley
