So, I just found out I am pg. I already scheduled a training session in Seattle, Washington and booked my trip for Nov 16. I will be about 5-6 wks by then. Is it safe to fly during early pg? I am finding mixed answers when I google it.
What is making me super paranoid is this is my third cycle this time trying and I have not flown at all during it. But, the first two cycles I flew in the 2ww and did not get pg. Think they are related? It was the same medication and doses except this time I had IUI (no sperm issues though before).
Help!

I believe it is safe to fly in early pregnancy. Check with your OB.
I had a friend that cancelled her flight when she found out she was pregnant. She didn't want to take any chances as it took her 4 years to get pregnant. Her OB said it was fine to fly, but it would be up to her.

It's fine to fly in early pregnancy. I'm high risk due to my recurrent miscarriages and still got the OK to fly when I was 4-5weeks pregnant. The only problem that might arise is if you have bad morning sickness (which I did) then flying is not so fun.

Flying is ok while PG. In fact, the only reason they say you shouldn't fly during your 3rd trimester is because they don't want anyone to go into labor while in the air.
I flew from South Carolina to Austria (about a 14hr flight) and back when I was at 5-6 w and everything was fine. I just couldn't eat everything they served but most of the time I had choices. Just take plenty of snacks incase you get nausa.
Also, they recommend that if you are on a long flight that you get up and walk around a little about every hour or so.
Goodluck and I'm sure everything will be fine!

I have flown twice since finding out I was preggo. The first at 4-5 weeks then again at 7 weeks. My OB told me that it was just fine to fly as long as I stayed hydrated and ate often. You may want to try to sit near the aisle so that you can get up and walk around a little. He suggested that if I was on a long flight to recline my seat so that my uterus wasn't crunched up the entire time. His only concern was that I not try to carry anything over 20-25 pounds. As long as you are careful, you should be fine. Check with your OB to be sure.

LOL you're totally fine! I went to Italy when I was 6-8 weeks pregnant and including layovers it was 23 hours each way. It's only a concern in the 3rd trimester because they don't want you going into labour while on the plane.

I flew at 5 weeks pregnant and had no problem.. The only thing I did was tell the flight attendent I was pregnant so I could get an extra strap to have more seatbelt room because I didnt want to squish them...

Thanks girls! I am also an idiot! My lovely hubby just reminded me that when we were pg with Lauren we flew from Alaska to Florida for two weeks at Christmas and I was only 6-7 weeks then. I feel much better now. I will take it easy though, take my time, pack light, etc.

it has no effect. I flew when I was pregnant the first time and miscarried, but flew again the second time I was pregnant at the same time and now he's napping with daddy.
good luck

I flew internationally at about 7 weeks. I did get really sick after landing though each way. Something about landing really messed me up. I highly recommend taking one of the "bags" on the plane with you after you land. That made me feel better getting through the airport when I was really sick to my stomach. I don't mind getting sick too much. The fear of getting sick in public is way worse.

I don't know of any risks flying causes for pregnancy. My only thing would be if you feel sick... then it might not be fun.

I flew two days after I got my BFP at 16dpo...I was at the very beginning of pregnancy. We had planned our vacation to St. John for a friend's destination wedding many months prior. I went in for one beta but wasn't even able to get a follow up beta bc I was on vacation. I spoke with my RE and the nurse. Both encouraged me to go away and enjoy myself. I swam, snorkeled, hiked but was careful not to overdue it. I even took one day and just relaxed at our villa, taking lots of naps.
