Hi,
I started on my first round of Clomid today (50mg). I am scheduled for a Follicle test on Day 11.
Is this common? What kind of a test is this - an ultrasound?

When I took clomid, I went back to my RE starting on CD 12 for vaginal u/s to check the growth of the follicle. I'm assuming that is what you will have done. Here's hoping your follie is growing!

Thanks for your good wishes! Yes, I hope I respond to Clomid... will come to know Friday (Jul 20).
My doc also offered us an IUI. Did you have one? As of now we are thinking we will try on our own for a couple of cycles, and then consider IUI.

That's exactly what we did. In fact, we had scheduled an IUI and a few days before the appointment, we changed our minds and decided to BD on our own. We figured it would save us some cash bc we had to pay for IUI's out of pocket and the ol' fashoined way costs nothing! Turned out, we didn't need an IUI. Have fun!

My follicle is 17mm on Day 11... which is ok, not bad. We too have scheduled an apointment for IUI early next week. But if I ovulate over the weekend, we wont make the appointment ;-) and will BD by ourselves.
The only problem is DH's sperm count is a bit low, and so the doc thinks an IUI gives us a better chance. My insurance covers 50% costs for Infertility, so we are not worrying much about costs...
Will use OPK's over the next few days and see how it goes.

THe first month I was on 50 mg. days 3-7 and had my follicles checked on day 13. No mature follicles I was sooooo upset!
This month I took 150 mg. clomid days 3-7 and had one follicle 17 mm. and one that was 12 mm.! I took an HCG (Novarel) injection on day 14 and ovulated 36 hrs. later.
Hubby's sperm count is really good, so hopefully this month worked! I'll test in 9 days!
I took my 1st round of clomid this month and on cd 13 I had two follicles on the left 22mm and on the right 20mm. Will test in a week or so on cd 25 my P4 # 67.7.
Today was Day 14 for me... ultrasound showed no follicle, we are guessing it hid!
I did get the hCG trigger shot and should ovulate in the next 24 hrs. Am scheduled for an IUI tomorrow.

I'm on my first round of 50 mg of clomid I went in for my cd 12 testing yesterday and I have one follicle on my left side measuring 15 mm, and one on my right measuring 12. I have to go back Thursday to see if there any bigger. Is the normal? How often should I expect to have appointments? And what is an iui?
