Default Follow Up From My Appointment With My GP

Well I am back from my doctor’s appointment, it was a good appointment and I am more relaxed now to talk to him now which is an improvement alone as going back 10 weeks I could not look him in the eye!

My HBAC1 (diabetes test – it monitors your BS over 3 months) came back at 7.8 which is higher than last time so he knows now that I need medication for my diabetes. He’s also had a letter from the hospital recommending I go onto Metformin for the PCOS, so of course the one drug will sort of both issues.

So I have my meds now, and I am starting on 1 x 500mg daily with breakfast and then upping to 1000mg in 2 weeks and then onto 1500mg after a month….

Here goes nothing; finally I get to see what Metformin is all about after reading so much on it!

I still have my follow up appointment with the diabetic nurse on Tuesday as well…

I'm happy for you, Alison, that you've got your Met and hopefully it will do all you want it to!

It's good that the one drug will deal with both conditions, too! Keep us posted on how the Met works for you, as it'll be very interesting to hear about how you get on with it, as less UK PCOS-ers seem to get the prescription than in the US. Hopefully, by xmas it will be working its magic for you!
