Default Food Intolerance Tests

Has anyone ever had one done and what method was used?

I'm interested to know what sort of foods you're intolerant too and made you bloated.

I ask this because me and my sister usually start off the day around a size UK 12 waist and by the evening a size 16 is tight! She went along for a test and discovered she was intolerant to eggs (they are in EVERYTHING!), aspartame (also in everything!), grapes and a few more things. Once she cut out these, she's been so slim and not bloated.

The tests are quite expensive (well, I call £40+ expensive!) but I'm wondering if you had a test done and if it improved how you felt once you cut out those things?

Thanks!

omg how bad was that post...im watchin me godson and typing at the same time. lol.
Let me start again
I have seen and still have to see a dietition and she said writte a food log for 1 month and include everything down to snacks and drinks etc then write how u feel certain times of the day. Im wheat intolerant. And i cant have things like gravy unless its homade because things like bisto is thickened with flower and i just cant handle it. i still eat wheat but i take special tablets 20 mins before food which keeps my stomach at bay but doesnt always work. I have had blood tests and things but not a expensive test. Although if your sister has benifited from it and she is like u then u should get the test to. or do the food log etc that might point out the obviouse to you.

hi
i dont like soya milk, rice milk is horrible - imho anyway. I use so good milk, which you can get in the chiller cabinet of any supermarket. It's about £1.25 a carton.

you're welcome

No, you dont need to fast or eat anything specific. I'll try and explain it, cos i cant find a link about it on the t'internet

they have a machine, like a microwave. I mean, its not a microwave.... just looks like one. You hold a metal bar which is attached to it - it's not heavy or anything. Just like a metal rolling pin. Then in their machine they put little vials of the food. You cant see the food, it just looks like water

then they put a little pen, like a soldering iron onto the skin of your thumb. Depending on how your intollerance is - is how the numbers go up on their dial.

You get printed sheets of what to avoid/ and the alternatives.....
hope this makes sence. if ive missed something -or not explained it properly, feel free to ask

I dont want to rain on any parades but alot of those health shop tests are not accurate. Jess (or jr J sorry) has the best idea go to a nutritionist/dietician which you can get referred to by your doc dfor free. They can also do all the blood work for true food allergies and then analyse your food journal to find any intolerances. You may be wasting your money and if you dont have a diet worked out that is balanced you may become deficient in many vits/minerals. I am not saying food intolerances dont exist at all but there isnt much follow up or support from a 40 quid test.
heres a news clip below or just google food intolewrance test

hi yukabee

thanks for the info my gp and endo know about what ive done, and they are fine about it - and have agreed that for me, it was the right decision to cut out wheat/dairy - thanks again for the info. Id suggest talking to your dr BEFORE you have any testing done.
