This is soooo exciting!! AF came 3 days ago!! (Ive been missing it for 3 months now) just 2 days after i went for Foot Reflexology on sat!! if only i can find the foot map online!! anyway, the area of my foot which linked to the female reproductive system hurt very very badly.. im not sure if the massage induced AF but i thought this would be a great news to share around.. i'll try my best to search for the foot map and put a link to it..
WOW- thats great! Could be the reflexology I have always wanted to try it, but only massage is covered under my health plan and I can't find a CMT who also does reflexology. But, hmmm...maybe its worth paying for it to see if it helps. Thanks for the 411!

I know that when I tried reflexology, I told the therapist about my PCOS, and she played around with the part of the foot that relates to ovaries, and it was painful.
I also know that while doing accupuncture, I got a needle put in at that point once, and it was very painful
I any case reflexology is also very good in terms of stress management. My therapist also mentioned that she works in hospital that uses reflexology as a complimentary to IVF.

I'd like to first start by saying what my symptoms were:
1) Inverted LH:FSH, elevated testosterone.
2) Absent AF (and of course no O)
3) Male pattern body hair.
1 and 2 were solved by accupuncture, chinese herbs and a moderate carb, 5 meal a day way of eating.
3 is a different story all together. But, once I get my life back into order, I will get a hormonal panel done. If it comes back normal, laser treatment here I come...:-)
I'd also like to mention that the hair reducing body lotions by Jergens and Suave (I haven't tried Aveeno or Lubriderm, but I imagine that they are the same), are very good.

This is so peculiar that this post is here today... I have been making an extra point in the shower to use the washcloth a lot more on my feet. Its like its an instinct and something keeps making me think of reflexology when I am doing this. I had read a book on it in the past. Maybe I need to get this done. I am a believer in alternate approaches to medicine.
When I was travelling in Thailand last year, I had a reflexology foot massage. It was the "hurt so good" kind of pain. A few days later, I had a very light, wimpy, (not really deserving the name) period, but some bleeding! I didn't know what to make of it at the time. It only lasted two days, but I couldn't help wondering if they were related.
I haven't been able to find someone trained in this method here in the Bay Area, the ones I've had were pale imitations of what I experienced in thailand.
you can try massaging the spot in the diagram.. just use your thumb and "press-rub" the area with some pressure. remember to do this at least 2 hours before you shower.
heard somewhere that you'll be prone to rheumatism (spelling?) if you shower immediately after foot massage.
