Sweet, this is one case where you really need to be upfront with the dr. who prescribed the thyroid med. I agree with the previous poster who said it takes a while to build up the levothyroxine in the system, but a dr. can tell you the best way to raise the level safely. You don't want to put yourself in any danger by messing with dosages (too much or too little).
My endo told me that the t4 you take today isn't used in the body til about 3 weeks later, due to the little-by-little conversion (to t3) that your body does to make it into the active form. At least this is my simple understanding of it. By the same token, you could be without t4 thyroid med for a couple weeks before you would notice much difference. Drs. work hard to keep the levels in a narrow range, and if you send too much t4 into your system at once it could possibly cause hyper symptoms within a few weeks' time. Hope you feel better soon.
