Default Found another problem w/my body!!

I'm sooooo sick of my body and all of the things wrong with it. I'm fat, I'm hairy, I have mood swings, I have aches all over the place (my throat, neck, abdomen, etc.).... I just feel so gross and ashamed of myself! I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. I'm sure most (if not all) of you can relate to my feelings. I haven't gone to the doctors yet (I was one of the lucky kids who was never brought to the doctors and now I fear them terribly), but today I found yet another problem with my body that should definitely be checked out. While I was showering I noticed a small BB sized lump in my genital area (on the right side of my clitoris to be exact). It doesn't really itch or hurt or anything, but it's a lump and I'm afraid of what it could be so I just need to get over my damn fear of doctors and make an appt! Has anyone else gotten a similar lump? What did it turn out to be?

Babe, as horrifying as this news is going to be........it's possible to get zits EVERYWHERE!!! At the risk of TMI, I have had, a couple times in my life, sebaceous cysts in that general area of my body!! ICK.

You probably have something that is no big deal. Really.

What you probably ought to do is watch if for a week or two. It will probably go away. If it doesn't, or it swells up a lot, or starts really giving you pain, you should consider asking a gyn to look at it. Now, I know that thought is horrifying, but honestly, THEY HAVE SEEN EVERYTHING, and nothing really bothers them.

Try not to be scared or terrified of going to the dr, they are there to help you and hopefully not scare you. One thing I have found with pcos is that over the years I have never been away from the docs. I have seen Endocrine docs every year for the past 23 years, amongst all the other dr's that I have accumulated along the way.

As starmaiden said, it is surprising where you can get zits and cysts, and that are of the body is just as prone to getting them. The other thing it could be is a Bartholins cyst which appears in that area, and is a collection of fluid in the Bartholins gland which is found on the posterior and side wall of the vagina. I am sure it is probably as starmaiden said, and they are quite painful as well. Try and get to see a dr, that is what they are there for.

This thing is driving me nuts! Not the overall physical effects of this lump, but the fact that I have it! So, (at the risk of sounding really gross) I decided to take out my digital camera and try to get a decent photo of it so I can get a good view at it. It's slightly more pink than the rest of the 'skin' down there and it has a whitish center. This leads me to believe that it's just a zit. I'll still keep an eye on it, but I feel much better hearing that it's possible that it may just be a simple zit!

As for the rest of my health. I'm going to try to work up my courage and make an appontment for my first physical this week. I hope I can go through with it. I'm so sick of worrying!

Gosh, are you thankful we have digital cameras and you didn't have to send the film out to be developed?

Yes, sounds distinctly zit like. Wash the area gently, keep it clean. Especially since if the thing bursts, like these things sometimes do, you don't want the bacteria spreading.

It's a zit/cyst/something of that sort. I, and most of the other women here, it would seem, get them fairly often. I don't think it's anything to worry about -- but like PP's said just keep it clean and don't mess with it. And see a doctor if it gets way worse.

I know this is off topic, but what beautiful kittens, Tariana! I wish I could show you my babies, but I don't have a digital camera or scanner.

Thanks! Lucy was an animal shelter "find" -- I have always loved black cats and knew when I saw her looking at me through the glass of the cage that she was who I wanted. Curt was abandoned with his sister at about 4 weeks. Luckily a friend of my dad's found them (they were dumped at his farm) and brought them to my dad, who brought them to us. We only got to keep Skyler (Curt's sister) a couple of days as she was already really sick and too weak to make it, but at least she had a LOT of love in those couple of days. Curt was SO small when we first got him and he's grown like a weed! I can't believe how big he is getting -- he fit easily in one hand with nothing hanging over when we first got him and now he's wayyyyyyy too big for two hands, even!

I'm such a proud mama, aren't I silly?

(((hugs))) It could possibly be a pimple but if it doesn't go away I would definately go see a doctor to to see what it is.

I agree, it could be a pimple. Or if it is in the area where your pubic hair it, it could be an ingrown hair. I get them all the time. Grrr....

it does sound like a bartholin gland cyst or a pimple (which does happen in the darndest spots...). i'd have it checked if it doesn't clear up in a few days or if it increases in size/sensitivity.

also, don't be embarassed about the photos- i've done the same thing myself. it's actually kind of funny when you think about the awkward positioning and trying to get a decent shot... but the peace of mind of being able to visualize for yourself that nothing is wrong... absolutely priceless.
