Hi i'm amanda. And i just foound out this afternoon and my ob/gyn wants me to see a reproductive endocrinologist. i'm counting blessings because i already have one kid, even if it took four years to get him here. i'm just 25 and the thought of dealing with this for the rest of my life is a little overwheleming. i'm also insliun resistant and just keep gaining weight, going friday for another sugar test. need diet and excersise ideas?????!!!! i had my gallbladder removed just one month after having my son and it left me with lbs, taking metformin to help control my insliun levels makes it so much worse...to the point that i cannot leave my house. so any help would be wonderful. i feel so sorry for my husband because of all the mood swings and the lack of a sex drive, where my hormones are so messed up. i so want to feel normal again and up until i found this site i felt alone. thanks so much for letting me know that i'm not at all by myself. I'M SORRY FOR ANY MISSPELLINGS , I STINK AT SPELLING
Welcome to SC. You might want to read the diet and exercise threads here for ideas on how to control the IR w/o met. A lot of cysters do well following a low carb diet. Hope you find what works for you.

welcome amanda! I am new to the board but not the the pcos. Anyways, i was drawn to your post because i had my gall bladder removed in Jan and ended up gaining about 50 pounds from it! yikes huh...the side affect they don't tell you about before the surgery. I still have a lot of...i dunno phantom pain and such in that spot where it used to be. do u get that?
anyways, do u eat a lot of processed foods? its harder to get stuff like that through your system without a gall bladder. I'm also trying a low carb diet that works some days and not others...no meal seems complete to me without a carb. Just know you're not alone and if you ever want to discuss the woas of being gall bladderless, you know where to find me!
Hi,
My name is Jessica and I'm a brand new SoulCyster. I am 29 and I have been dealing with PCOS for about 10 years now. I was not "officially" diagnosed with it until April 06', but I had mentioned "PCOS" to my doctor back when I was 19. Last year I finally asked him to do some tests to find out why I struggle so bad with my weight, lack of menstruation, acne, depression etc... etc.. and what do you know...
he diagnosed me with PCOS !!!
I have 2 beautiful little girls, 3 & 6. My first took 2 years,10 months to concieve (even with lapriscopic surgery-I also have Endometriosis, Clomid & Metformin) and my second only 2 months.
I work EXTREMELY hard to manage it on my own (without medication)
through diet, exercise, natural remedies etc. However, I am struggling... BAD. I am so glad that I found this site. My husband has been extremely patient and compassionate, but he can't offer the same support and understanding as someone who struggles and lives with it as well. I hope to learn, share and meet some new soulcyster friends !!!!
Welcome. It can be a little overwhelming when you are researching and see all the symptoms and such. I know I was floored, especially when all the little, seemingly unrelated things started to make sense. They are all related.
Glad you're not feeling alone anymore.

Welcome! You've already been told about low-carbing. Regular exercise is also extremely important to us cysters - I was told by my RE (reproductive endocrinologist) that I should plan on doing 30 minutes of cardio, per day, for the rest of my life in order to keep up with "normal peoples'" metabolism.
There are lots of herbs and vitamins that can help with IR and PCOS. Please jump in here, and ask any questions that come to mind!
