I have had pcos for a number of years now, 4+ if not longer, it all seems a
long time ago since it all started.
My name is Mel, i'm 27 and live in Kent with my partner who is a female and
my 4yr old daughter who i'm very blessed to have btw.
I have recently been wondering if a hysterectomy would help and I know for
someone my age it is a drastic step to take but I feel that I am at the end
of my tether with pcos. I have tried Metformin which I found absolutely no
help at all!!, my doctor says she can give me a pill which will produce ''fake''
periods, I dont want that ... my last one I would say is more than 18 months
ago and I have no idea what this is doing to my insides and would generally
hate to know tbh. I have cysts on both ovaries and uterus lining, in which
one of them burst a few months ago leaving me in agony and unable to do
anything for a couple of months after, I couldnt even get out of bed without
falling over and I really dont want this happening again.
Have any other people thought about having a hysterectomy?? and would
anyone know where I could get some information which will help me
state my case with my GP. Just here looking to find answers if I can get
them.
Well my gp said they wouldnt allow me to have one anyway bcos i'm too young!! she is refering me back to the gynaecology department at local hospital so now I have to wait for an appointment with them but she was unwilling to give me anything as Metformin didnt work for me and she didnt want to try Diannette so where am I supposed to go from here?? but waiting for another doctor to help me. She also said that not having AF isnt good as it can cause bone damage but its not my fault that I dont have them!!!!
