Default Free glucose meter

I am relatively new here as far as posting goes, but have been lurking off and on for about a year. I don’t know if this link has ever been posted before, but I thought I would post it for anyone who is interested. I also don't know the rules about posting stuff like this, so if this is inappropriate, I apologize, and please let me know.

I'm not sure what anyone's medical insurance status is, but I thought I would post this for anyone who needs a glucose monitor. I know they are pretty expensive if you don't have insurance, so this would be one way to be able to get a monitor without having to spend money that is needed elsewhere.

Last fall, I saw an ad on TV for a free booklet and dvd regarding Type 2 diabetes. Since I am horrible about taking care of myself when it comes to my medical problems, I thought I should order it and start taking care of myself. I went to the site it said and filled out the order form for it and after I filled it out, an offer came up for a completely free One Touch Ultra 2 Meter (you don't even have to pay S&H). I ordered it and actually got it (I am pretty skeptical on all so called free offers lol). I don't remember if I put my real phone number in or not, but if I did, they haven't called and bugged me (not a big fan of the telemarketers ) It didn't ask for any credit card info or anything like that (I don't give that stuff out!) but it does ask for your address, phone number and e-mail and some general questions about your diabetes.

I still haven’t watched the DVD or read the booklet, but I do use the monitor - I keep that one at work and then have my original Ascensia at home. But just wanted to give the link in case anyone needs one or knows of anyone who needs one or just needs an extra one around the house.

Here's the link

Have a great day all!

I have that monitor ( and the ascencia lol!) accucheck also sent me a free onethis year and one last year. Alot of them will because they hope you will get the testing strips. That is where they make the money. I hope more people will check this out. You would be surprised of how many of these machines I have, all given to me free. I have had to give them away and still have many here. I have at least 10, 3 are still in boxes. I hope some cysters i who nd one check it out.

Wow! I didn't know there were so many places that would give one for free! But I guess it makes sense because as you said, they make their money on the strips.

Have a great day!

I went and tried the website, it said 6-8 weeks for my meter to arrive. Does it come with a starter pack of strips or should I go get some beforehand?
