Kat have you heard of the Insulite PCOS System? I was looking around on this site and clicked a link and this popped up. It is a set of pills that is supposed to help heal PCOS, control weight problems and help the body process food. Before I buy into this I wanted to see if anyone has heard or tried this before. Like I've mentioned in earlier postings I am desperate to loose weight and nothing I am currently doing is working!!!
Thanks,
Corina

I've heard of it, but I've had no personal experience with it.

For the next few weeks, you should keep a detailed journal of what you're eating, as well as, your workout habits. Take this to your doctor. It may help them identify a good program for you.

To the girl who was talking about a set of pills.
i havent hear of them. however, my doctor perscribed an appitite supresent when i was going nuts about my weight and i had a really negative effect. not that i gained wiehgt or anything but i became really emotional and suicidal. so you should make sure that it doesnt have anything that your body could reactnegativly to. as soon as i was off that med i was back to my normal self. but we switched doctors. just something for people to think about. really check out the meds you are being put on before you use them long term.

There's a big thread over on the Alternative Remedies forum on the insulite system.

What is included in the pills are things that a lot of PCOSers take separately that are known to help with PCOS - offhand I can't remember all of them but I know chromium is one of the ingredients.

It's basically an alternative remedy which incorporates a lot of herbs which are supposed to be good for PCOS/hormones/weight loss.

Have a look at the thread in Alternative Remedies - there are quite a few cysters who are currently taking these.

Good Luck

Does anyone know if Sugar Twin and other sugar replacements are actualy not the best for an IR individual?
Do they tell the body tht you have had sugar and spike your glucose levels?

I'm searching for just about any reason I am not losing weight....thought I would ask.
thanks everyone.

Your body still thinks it's sugar and it will affect your insulin level, just you don't get the calories from it.

I am wondering if any of you are thinking about gastric bypass surgery? I am thinking about it.... I'm pretty sure I want to do it. My husband and I have been ttc for more than 2 years and they keep telling me to try and drop the pounds but unless I starve myself and workout all day...I don't drop them.... all of my family memebers have such a hard time losing weight.

Dear robyne, The GI for sugar twin is only 7 per teaspoon. That is extremely low and it should be fine.

I've considered gastric bypass surgery, but i've also thought about the lapband surgery. I've tried the diets, the excersise and everything just seems to stop working after a while. It's starting to get a little discouraging. I haven't talked myself into one of these procedures yet, but I've been watching Big Medicine for the last few months and I'm learning more and more about the different ways surgeries.
