When I was younger I use to get them constantly! As I grow older I get them in stages. I just got my third one in less than a month. I have Abreva which seems to work, I put ice on them. I am just so tired of getting them! I am wondering if anybody else gets them frequently? If so what do you do to treat them?
or how ever you spell it.... anyway it can be use because it's an anti-inflammatory... put it directly on the blister... I read it in the Prevention Mag... plus watch what you eat because the virus needs the amino acid arginine in order to replicate itself.. found in chocolate, cola, peas, nuts, beer, gelatin and cereals. Try lysine but not if you are preg or nursing. Boost your immunity... the virus flourishes when your health suffers.... no stress! Acyclovir ointment is helpful. Sun exposure in known to increase incidences. All of this came from a book... Total Health for Women... Prevention Magazine Health Book. Oh, an asprin works too! Directly onto the blister.

Thank you... my body has almost become immune to a lot of treatment... like I mentioned I use to get them constantly when I was younger. I will try a few things that you listed that I havent tried yet!
I get them once a month.......if ya know what I mean... and any time I'm out in the sun. I have found that the med I use for acne (benzol perozide cream) seems to stop them & helps dry them up faster. I have a prescription for Zovirax(spelling?) cream, but that doesn't work unless you catch them right at the beginning, which almost never happens, but, I have found that if I am going to be in the sun and I put Zovirax on my lips BEFORE I go out then I won't get one. That's the best.........not getting them at all.........cause I hate em

Glucophage 2x day
Sythroid .75mcg
lost 80 lbs on CAD and maintained for 3 years, but got stuck. Still trying to loose, hoping the Gluc will help.
I have gotten cold sores/fever blisters BAD for most of my life. I had my dentist perscripe DENAVIR. Your dentist or doc can perscribe it for you. It is expensive for such a small tube but WORKS!! I have not had a full-blown sore for over a year. You put it on your lip when you feel one comin' and it sure zaps it! I used to get them BAD even since I was around 10.. The kind that would like pop and get crusty.. eww...
